Trott promoted to Bermuda national squad

In June-July Bermuda will travel to Canada for three one-day games before playing the Intercontinental Cup with Canada and Scotland. In September they will head to Namibia for the same tournament.

Rodney Trott, the captain of Bermuda's Under-19 squad that participated in the World Cup in Malaysia, has been named vice-captain of the senior side. He will be joined by in the national team by some of his other U-19 team-mates as well.
Jordan DeSilva, Tamauri Tucker, Dennico Hollis, McLaren Smith and Kyle Hodsoll are part of the 23-man squad picked to train for Bermuda's 2008 season. Irving Romaine, who captained the side in the World Cup in West Indies last year, continues in the post. Janeiro Tucker, suspended from international duty for disciplinary problems, has also been included in the squad.
"Judging from our busy 2008 schedule, the training programme will take a lot of dedication, hard work and commitment from the players in order to ready themselves to compete at the level at which we strive for," Gus Logie told the Caribbean Media Corporation.

"The players who have been selected to train have made themselves available for this commitment," Logie said. "The squad is made up of a mixture of experienced and younger players and was selected with a view to the future."
