Scorecard
Martin Andersson had a birthday to remember as Derbyshire completed an emphatic 169-run victory over Glamorgan in the Division Two match at Derby.
The on-loan Middlesex allrounder marked his 22nd birthday by taking 4 for 25 with only wicketkeeper Chris Cooke offering any prolonged resistance with 67 as Glamorgan were dismissed for 132 to lose for the eighth time in nine matches.
It was also a memorable game for 35-year-old Tony Palladino who claimed the first two wickets of the day and the last to take 4 for 52 and finish with 10 in a match for the first time in his career.
Glamorgan's chances of reaching the target of 302 were slim before the start of play but vanished in the first five overs of the morning.
Once again, it was Palladino who did the damage as Tom Cullen played around a straight one in the seventh over before Kiran Carlson was unlucky to be given lbw to a ball that looked to be going down.
But David Lloyd could have no complaints as he pulled a short ball from Lockie Ferguson into Palladino's hands at long leg in the 10th over to to leave Glamorgan in ruins at 33 for 4.
It was now a question of whether the game would be over by lunch and the chances of Derbyshire wrapping up victory in the first session increased when Connor Brown aimed a drive at Andersson and was caught behind.
Chris Cook struck some defiant blows but Graham Wagg's return to one of his former county's ended in the ignominy of a pair when he pushed at a wide ball from Andersson and was caught at first slip by Wayne Madsen at the third attempt.
The slide towards a crushing defeat continued as Ruaidhri Smith swished his bat in annoyance after slicing a wide and short ball to second slip before Timm van der Gugten pulled wildly at his second ball and gave Andersson a gentle return catch.
Lunch was delayed by 15 minutes but Kieran Bull and Cooke survived and there was more frustration for Derbyshire when rain set in and prevented a re-start.until 5.05pm.
Cooke and Bull dug in for 10 more overs with Cooke pulling Ferguson for his second six before the fast bowler plucked out his off-stump and Palladino had the final word when Michael Hogan skied to midwicket.
