Havant to host re-arranged ECB KO quarter-final

Havant's abandoned ECB Club Championship quarter-final tie against Stanmore is to be replayed at Havant Park on Sunday (3 Aug), 2pm

Havant's abandoned ECB Club Championship quarter-final tie against Stanmore is to be replayed at Havant Park on Sunday (3 Aug), 2pm.
The original match between the clubs in Middlesex last Sunday was called off after 11 overs because of the dangerous state of the Stanmore pitch.
The dry surface caused the ball to repeatedly fly up off a length and soar over the wicketkeeper's head.
"One ball went a good eight feet over my head and another even higher than that," explained Havant keeper Steve Snell.
ECB Competitions Manager Mark Campkin said that having a quarter-final tie abandoned in such circumstances was unprecedented in the long history of the national competition.
"Stanmore were very apologetic and were happy to travel to Havant this Sunday," he said.
Havant have a great incentive to win Sunday's rearranged tie, which should attract a decent sized crowd to Havant Park.
They will be at home to either Ealing or Saffron Walden in the semi-finals on August 11, if they win.
