New TelstraClear Black Caps general manager announced

Auckland Cricket chief executive Lindsay Crocker has been appointed general manager of the TelstraClear Black Caps

Auckland Cricket chief executive Lindsay Crocker has been appointed general manager of the TelstraClear Black Caps.
New Zealand Cricket chief executive Martin Snedden said that Crocker had a proven track record in cricket administration and management.
"Lindsay has the attributes to successfully manage the Black Caps Unit. He has a sound cricket background, both as a player and administrator and solid business experience," Mr Snedden said.
Crocker has been chief executive of Auckland Cricket since 1997.
Prior to his role with Auckland Cricket Crocker was chief executive of the Canterbury Jockey Club for three years.
"During his seven years as chief executive of Auckland Cricket, Lindsay oversaw a number of significant and beneficial developments. These included changes in the organisation's governance and administration, the introduction and development of portable pitch use at Eden Park and a number of progressive club administrative initiatives.
"Most importantly Lindsay leaves Auckland Cricket not only in strong financial shape but also in strong cricket shape, with both the men's and women's elite teams consistently at or near the top of their respective competitions."
Crocker, who played first-class cricket for Northern Districts over a period of seven years and professionally in England and South Africa, said he was looking forward to the new challenges the position presented.
"I'm excited that I have an opportunity to be involved with cricket at the highest level in a position that allows me to make a significant contribution.
"I'm looking forward to working within New Zealand Cricket, and particularly the TelstraClear Black Caps Unit, to ensure the team reaches its potential."
Crocker will move to Christchurch, where from July 28 he will be based at New Zealand Cricket.
