Herbert Webbe was an opening batsman who played for Middlesex and Oxford University after captaining Winchester in 1875. He won Blues in 1877, 1878 and 1879, playing for the county during the holidays. But he suffered from a weak heart and gave up the game on leaving Oxford. He died from a sudden heart attack at the age of 30.
