Paul Valthaty, the Mumbai batsman who hit the headlines with a century for Kings XI Punjab in the 2011 IPL, has decided to return to Mumbai cricket, after a year representing Himachal Pradesh. He can't play for Mumbai this season, though, as there is a one-year cooling-off period before he can return to the side.
"I have already given my No-Objection Certificate to the Mumbai Cricket Association," Valthaty said. "I played for Himachal Pradesh last season because I wanted a full season of first-class cricket and Mumbai already had a packed team."
He didn't have a successful time with HP, making 120 runs at 20.00 in the Ranji Trophy, and has been released by them. "I had a wrist injury mid-season due to which I had to miss a few domestic games," he said. "My wrist issue is now sorted as I got a surgery done in London and I am feeling my best again. My stint with HP will only help my cricket."
