Surrey 200 for 3 beat Yorkshire 199 by seven wickets at The Oval
Scorecard
Mark Butcher made the most of a rare chance in limited-overs cricket with 104 from 107 balls - England selectors take note - in Surrey's comfortable seven-wicket win over bottom-placed Yorkshire at The Oval. Butcher, who was only playing because of an injury to Ian Ward, hit 16 boundaries, and with the help of another England one-day international outcast, Mark Ramprakash (60*), Surrey cruised home with seven overs remaining. For Yorkshire, it was a sixth defeat in seven matches, but they were thankful to their overseas player, Stephen Fleming, who guided them to a respectable 199 with 90 from 107 balls after fellow opener Matthew Wood was caught off the very first ball of the game. Ian Salisbury took 3 for 40 and Adam Hollioake 3 for 7 from only 1.5 overs.
Kent 291 for 4 beat Glamorgan 239 by 52 runs at Maidstone
Scorecard
Ed Smith smote a rapid 122 at Mote Park to help Kent to their third win of the season, against champions Glamorgan. Smith's innings lasted 107 balls, including nine fours and four sixes, and included a hundred stand with Robert Key (40), released from the England squad. Andrew Symonds kept up the good work with 45 and Mark Ealham carried on his good form with a quickfire 50 from only 22 balls as Kent amassed a huge 291 for four. Glamorgan's reply was pegged back when Mohammad Sami (3 for 30) removed openers Robert Croft and Jimmy Maher with only 38 on the board. Matthew Maynard did his best to keep Glamorgan in the hunt, but when he was stumped for 72 off the left-arm spin of Robert Ferley (3 for 59) and Adrian Dale was run out for 36, the writing was on the wall for Glamorgan.
Warwickshire 219 for 2 beat Worcestershire 218 for 8 at Worcester
Scorecard
Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott led Warwickshire to an eight-wicket win in the local battle of the Ws at New Road. Chasing 218, Warwickshire were always in control and after Neil Carter (33) and Nick Knight (24) made a solid start, Trott played the straight man with 56 not out, while Bell provided the fireworks with an unbeaten 97 from 79 balls. While it was hard on Bell to fall three runs short of a ton, it was just as harsh on Worcestershire's Anurag Singh, who also scored 97 and was the mainstay of their innings. Gareth Batty weighed in with 31 from 24 down the order, but an efficient display from the Warwickshire bowlers meant Worcestershire couldn't break loose.

Lancashire 257 for 5 beat Middlesex 255 for 6 by five wickets at Lord's
Scorecard
Carl Hooper showed he's still got what it takes to cut the mustard with a dominating, unbeaten 88 from 68 balls in Lancashire's five-wicket win over Middlesex at Lord's. Mal Loye got the chase off to a good start with 78, Stuart Law then kept up the momentum before Hooper took the game by the scruff of the neck and blasted Lancashire to victory with eight balls to spare. It could have been easier for Lancashire, however, if David Nash (62) and Abdul Razzaq (61*) hadn't earlier rescued Middlesex from 60 for 4 to 255 for 6. Nash started the rescue act with some help from Ed Joyce (32), and then left Razzaq to finish with a flourish from 31 balls eight fours and two sixes, but it wasn't enough.
Hampshire 229 for 6 beat Northamptonshire 228 for 8 by four wickets at Northampton
Scorecard
John Crawley got back in the runs with a perfectly paced 77 as Hampshire successfully chased Northamptonshire's 228 for 8 with just three balls to go. Simon Katich laid the foundations with 54 before Crawley, with the help of Dimitri Mascarenhas (31), took over proceedings. Phil Jacques smashed a brutal 117, but it wasn't enough to preserve Northants's unbeaten record.
Nottinghamshire 224 for 6 beat Scotland 222 for 7 by four wickets at Edinburgh
Scorecard
Despite a sparkling century from Scotland's adopted star, Rahul Dravid, it was Chris Cairns who emerged as the overseas hero with a matchwinning 65 not out as Nottinghamshire beat Scotland by four wickets at Edinburgh. Dravid again showed his class as he rescued Scotland from 40 for 4 with 129 not out, including 14 fours and four sixes. He found good support from Colin Smith (44) in Scotland's competitive 222. But Notts made steady progress to their target, with Paul Franks (55) leading the way at the top before Cairns and Gareth Clough (37*) saw Notts home with over two overs to spare.
Sussex 286 for 5 beat Somerset 196 by 90 runs at Taunton
Scorecard

Murray Goodwin hit 123 and Chris Adams 69 not out in Sussex's impressive 286 for 5, and after Mat Prior was out first ball of the match.
