Bernard Loots grew up in South Africa and moved to the Netherlands in 2006. He learnt his cricket playing club cricket for Durbanville in the Western Cape, and is a medium-paced seam bowler and aggressive lower-order batsman. A consistent performer at his club (HCC) in the Netherlands, Loots made a successful debut for Netherlands. Replacing the injured Maurits Jonkman in the squad, he picked up 3 for 16 against Ireland at the WCL Division One tournament in Netherlands in July 2010, taking his first two international wickets with his second and third balls in the game.
