Berbice-born fast-bowling allrounder Esuan Crandon made his first-class debut as a 19-year-old in the 2000-01 season. While his batting has failed to live up to initial expectations, Crandon's skiddy seamers have formed the cornerstone of Guyana's attack. His ability to keep the runs down in the shorter versions of the game - he has economy rates of 4.15 and 6.83 in List A and Twenty20 respectively - stood Guyana in good stead during their winning run in the 2010 Caribbean T20.
