Right hand bat
Right arm offbreak, Slow left arm orthodox
Prashanth Nair came to New York from Kerala at age 14 and soon emerged as a promising left-arm orthodox spinner, taking a 5 for 57 against a West Indies Under-19s side in July 2011, including the wicket of then WI U-19 captain Kraigg Brathwaite. Nair subsequently toured Ireland as part of USA's 2011 Under-19 World Cup Qualifier squad but only played one match at an event which featured mainly seam-friendly conditions.
In the years since, he has toyed with bowling right-arm offbreaks in club cricket and has grown in confidence to the point where he now bowls spin with both arms no matter the standard of competition, including 3 for 24 against a Caribbean Premier League Invitational XI in July 2016. His unique ambidextrous skillset helped him gain selection at age 23 for his first USA senior team tournament in October 2016 at ICC WCL Division Four in Los Angeles.
