Richard Halliwell played for Middlesex and MCC as an amateur wicketkeeper and a hard hitting lower-order batsman who, for reasons that are unclear, played much of his cricket under pseudonyms. His last two first-class matches were for Gentlemen against Players. He died prematurely from rapid consumption.
