A talented allrounder who represented Israel with distinction at age-group level, Solomon Varsulkar's batting is technically correct and elegant, and, when in top form, is a delight to watch. His bowling is also full of promise. He has the ability to turn the ball sharply away from the right-hander but needs to work on his consistency. His development was aided by a stint in the European Cricket Academy at the camp at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai in 2008. Varsulkar was the first Israeli to be selected to take part in an ICC academy, earning his call-up after producing phenomenal bowling performances for his country, including overall figures of 15 for 120 and 11 for 60 at the 2005 and 2007 ICC European U-19 Championships. A spell in the army sidelined his cricket career, but he could well be an important player in Israel's cricketing future.
