Scorecard
Shivnarine Chanderpaul's 109 salvaged a draw for Guyana, following on, against Leeward Islands at North Sound. Guyana slid to 79 for 4 in their second innings, still 127 behind, but the 43-year-old veteran batsman's sixth-wicket stand with Anthony Bramble kept them afloat.
Leeward Islands, who were put in to bat, declared on 412 on the second day after a number of solid performances. Post a second-wicket 165-run partnership between Montcin Hodge and Keacy Carty, Leeward Islands found themselves wobbling as they lost five wickets for 74 runs in the space of 16 overs. But then a couple of fifties from the lower order's Jahmar Hamilton and Terrence Warde pushed them past 400.
In reply, Guyana tottered to 57 for 7, as Jeremiah Louis, Stanny Simon and Rahkeem Cornwall decimated the line-up. Vishaul Singh sparked the only resistance at No. 4, with an unbeaten 97, as Guyana were bowled out for 206 after Warde cleared the tail.
Following on, Guyana lost their opener Chandrapaul Hemraj early, and they lost wickets regularly thereafter as Leeward Islands closed in. But then the Chanderpaul-Bramble duo settled in, hitting five sixes and 14 fours between them, as they fended off the danger and pulled their side into the lead before the game was declared drawn.
