†WEST INDIES v AUSTRALIA 1983-84

At Castries, April 19

15-Apr-1985
At Castries, April 19. West Indies won by seven wickets. Although West Indies were without Lloyd, in Australia attending a libel case in court, and Richards, in England attending the funeral of a close friend, they were never pressed as they went ahead in the one-day series. Australia's innings was comprised almost entirely of a fourth-wicket partnership of 150 between Border, out yet again in the 90s, and Hughes, who played his best innings of the tour. Once Hughes was out, only 48 came off the last ten overs. Haynes saw West Indies easily home with two 6s and eleven 4s in his second one-day century of the series.
Man of the Match: D. L. Haynes.
