India v Pakistan 1952-53

At Madras, November 28, 29, 30, December 1

15-Apr-1954
At Madras, November 28, 29, 30, December 1. Drawn. Rain prevented any play on the last two days and denied Pakistan the opportunity of drawing level in the series. They had established an advantage, for when the weather intervened, India were 169 runs behind on the first innings with six batsmen out. For this good position, Pakistan were mainly indebted to Kardar. Five wickets were down for 115 before he stopped the collapse in a stand of 80 with Anwar Hussain. The tail-enders gave admirable support, with Zulfiqar Ahmed and Amir Elahi finally hitting 104 in eighty-five minutes for the last partnership. India lost three men for 30 runs in forty-five minutes play before lunch on the second day, but they made a partial recovery through the combined efforts of Apte and Umrigar.
