Kenya's selectors have finally lost patience with veteran allrounder Tony Suji who is the most notable omission from their squad for the ICC World Cup Qualifiers.

Suji has been a near fixture in the side since the 2003 World Cup but in 60 ODIs managed just 507 runs at 12.97 and 21 wickets at 55.95. He is the only player dropped from the squad that recently toured South Africa for build-up matches.

Kenya have included several youngsters such as Elijah Asoyo, Rakep Patel and Seren Waters. Waters, who will be with the Surrey side taking part in the Pro Arch Trophy in Abu Dhabi next week, will join the squad at the end of the month.

The team leaves for South Africa on Saturday for a fortnight at Pretoria's High Performance Centre where it will attend a two-week training camp and play three warm-up matches against local league sides ahead of the qualifiers beginning on April 1.

"Cricket Kenya is impressed with the progress the team has been making in preparation for this very important tournament, and believes that there will be value added to the team during the camp in Pretoria," Tom Tikolo, the CEO of Kenya Cricket, said.

Kenya play Netherlands on the opening day of the qualifiers in Potchefstroom.
