A four-wicket haul by fast bowler Rizwan Haider and an unbeaten half-century from Sohaib Maqsood helped Multan Tigers beat Lahore Eagles by eight wickets with more than 20 overs to spare.

Choosing to bowl first, Multan immediately stamped their dominance on the match, reducing Lahore Eagles to 15 for 5. An eighth-wicket partnership of 97 runs between Mohammad Irshad and Asfand Mehran restored some respectability to the Lahore Eagles' innings, which eventually folded for 174.

Multan's chase never looked in trouble. Sohaib Maqsood, who came in at the fall of the first wicket, hit an unbeaten 87 off 71 balls to ensure that Multan were home in the 28th over.

An all-round effort by Sialkot Stallions helped them defeat Bahawalpur Stags by six wickets in Ghari Khuda Bakhsh.

Spinners Nabeel Malik and Adeel Malik took three wickets each as Bahawalpur, batting first, struggled to find stability in their innings. Although a few batsmen got starts, none scored more than 29. A stand of 42 for the second wicket was the highest for Bahawalpur.

In reply, Sialkot recovered from a tricky 42 for 3 through half-centuries from Yasir Aziz and Mohammad Ayub. The two put on 99 runs, with Ayub remaining unbeaten on 66 to see his side home in the 42nd over.

With an effective bowling performance, Karachi Dolphins bowled Quetta Bears out for 120, to eventually take a nine-wicket victory in Hyderabad.

Quetta were jolted early when they lost two wickets without scoring a run. No. 3 batsman Ali Asad was the third batsman to head to the pavilion, after retiring hurt. A 55-run stand for the third wicket helped them recover, but they lost six wickets for 40 runs to fold in the 41st over. Offspinners Atif Maqbool and Haaris Ayaz took three wickets each.

Karachi, in reply, reached the target in the 16th over, with Khalid Latif scoring an unbeaten 65 off 41 balls.

Group B

Faisalabad Wolves registered a convincing 47-run win over Rawalpindi Rams in a match that was reduced to 28 overs a side. Put into bat, Faisalabad amassed 229 for 4 in their allotted overs. Opener Ammar Mahmood struck 53 while Jahandad Khan hit a blistering 76 off 36 balls.

In reply, Rawalpindi were struggling at 102 for 7 before a lower-order effort brought them closer to the target. The Faisalabad bowlers, however, struck at crucial junctures to dismiss Rawalpindi for 182.

The matches between Islamabad Leopards and Peshawar Panthers, and Abbottabad Falcons and Karachi Zebras, were abandoned.
