South Africa v Pakistan, 2012-13

Wisden's review of the second Twenty20 International, South Africa v Pakistan, 2012-13

15-Apr-2014
At Centurion, March 3, 2013. Pakistan won by 95 runs. Toss: Pakistan. Twenty20 international debut: K. J. Abbott.
The Durban washout meant the Twenty20 leg of the tour became a one-game shootout. Still, the overwhelming nature of Pakistan's victory here made their celebrations after lifting the series trophy less incongruous: victory by 95 runs in a 20-over game was just about worth two wins. Mohammad Hafeez dominated the innings, thanks to some wildly erratic bowling and his ability to hammer it. Four overs of spin from Peterson and Ontong cost 58. If Hafeez ate well on South Africa's inadequacy, Umar Gul positively feasted on it. The batting was wretched, but Gul was inspired, taking five for six from 14 balls. He really was that good - and the batsmen that bad.
Man of the Match: Mohammad Hafeez.
