Uncapped Kalpana in India squad for NZ ODIs

The BCCI has announced a 15-member India Women squad led by Mithali Raj for the five-match ODI series against New Zealand, starting with the first match on Sunday. Uncapped R Kalpana has been picked as the wicketkeeper in place of Sushma Verma, who had done duty during the side's previous ODI series against South Africa, in November last year.
Seamer Niranjana Nagarajan and allrounder Veda Krishnamurthy made comebacks, while Shubhlakshmi Sharma and Vellaswamy Vanitha missed the cut.
The M Chinnaswamy Stadium will host all five games, as well as the following three T20 internationals. India are rooted to the bottom of the ICC Women's Championship points table with only one win in six matches.
