At the Clubs Annual general Meeting on Monday it was announced that all-rounder Kevan James, who retired from first-class cricket at the end of last season, raised £140,150 in his benefit year during 1999. He thanked Hampshire County Cricket Club for their support over the wonderful 15 years he had spent with the county, for which he was grateful.

In addition to the sum, James also raised £15,000 for local charity Leukaemia Busters, a charity linked to his benefit year.
