Start of the day
It didn't take long for Aamer Yamin to make an impact in T20 international cricket. Making his debut in this format - he has played three ODIs - he bowled the first over of the match and, with his first delivery, skidded one through the defences of Jason Roy to win an lbw decision. It made Yamin the 11th man to take a wicket with his first ball in T20Is and the seventh to do so against a Full Member nation.

Pounce of the day
Pakistan's fielding was slightly better in this match. While there were still a couple of fumbles and two drops, there were also some cool-headed catches and some excellent diving saves to increase the pressure on the England batsmen. But perhaps the best moment of all came when Mohammad Rizwan, keeping wicket in place of the rested Sarfraz Ahmed, produced a brilliant pick-up, throw and direct hit to dismiss the dangerous Jos Buttler. James Vince had faced the delivery and, attempting a pull, had managed only to glove the ball behind just behind him. Butter called for the run, only to see Rizwan sprint in to gather, moving so quickly and releasing his underarm throw so accurately, that he was well short of his ground.

Drop of the day I
After dropping two pretty simple chances in the second T20 in Dubai, Sohail Tanvir missed another here that could have proved crucial. Vince was on just 4 when, pushing at one off the back foot, he hit the ball back pretty firmly just to the left of the bowler's head. Sohail managed to get his left hand to the ball, but more with a view to self-preservation than to take the catch, and was unable to cling on. Vince, while not at his most fluent on a tricky surface, went on to provide the platform for England's total. He made their top score with 46 and was only dismissed by the penultimate ball of the innings.

Drop of the day II
Chris Woakes was on 19 when, slicing an attempted drive off Mohammad Irfan, he sent the ball spiralling toward deep point. Three men converged on the chance but, perhaps put off by his colleagues, Anwar Ali put down the chance. Woakes hit two of his next three balls for six and, in scoring 37, produced the quickest and most fluent batting of the England innings. It was another example of a wasted opportunity from Pakistan.

Run-out of the day
There was bound to be one in the Pakistan innings and nobody was surprised when Mohammad Hafeez was involved. David Willey's opening over was pretty eventful, featuring four leg-side wides and the dismissal of Ahmed Shehzad, bowled slogging across the line. His final ball was on target and Hafeez punched it through the covers. There looked to be two on but Rafatullah Mohmand hesitated and then gave up on the second run with Hafeez halfway down. It took several minutes to determine who had been run out but, as the batsmen hadn't crossed at the moment the bails were broken at the non-striker's end, it was Hafeez who had to go.

Duck of the day
Rafatullah has been playing in his debut series at the age of 39 and he was looking to make a decisive contribution after scores of 16 and 23 in the first two matches. However, having been involved in the run-out of Hafeez, he then had to wait until the third over to face his first delivery. Willey got it on target, Rafatullah missed with a flick to leg and he was lbw for a golden duck, his World T20 hopes possibly skewered at the same time.
