4.10pm Mushfiqur and Herath share the trophy. What a landmark Test for Bangladesh. Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did bringing it to you. Mohammad Isam's report will tell you the full story. Look out for reviews and reactions from Isam and Fernando.

Good time to read our cover story on the emergence of Bangladesh: Red sun rising. Goodbye for now.

4pm Tamim, Man of the Match: I think this win started when we lost the match in Galle. We had a long chat with the coach, and the players stepped up. The way the bowlers bowled in the first innings was quite exceptional. That changed the whole thing. When you are chasing this kind of total, you have to be a little aggressive. Me and Sabbir were talking in the middle to look for runs. All came good except the last shot. The coach has backed us a lot. We are very lucky to have him.

Shakib, Man of the Series: This was a very important win. It wasn't easy. We had to come back strongly after the first Test. I just play my shots. As I said, the way Chandimal batted in the first innings it told me if I apply myself I could score runs.

Mushfiqur: Obviously, feel great. The bowlers did a great job - Mustafiz and Shakib's spells were outstanding on a flat track. It showed the character of the team. The boys really stepped up under pressure and there were lot of partnerships in the bowling. I really enjoyed it. If you look at the last few series, we have played some good cricket.

Herath: We have a lot of areas to improve. This is not the time to talk about it. We will talk with the coaches. I don't know (1000 first-class wickets?). I am going for more.

Chandika Hathurusingha: The boys deserved this win. They have worked very, very hard. I am very happy for them. We knew we need to make some changes after the loss in Galle. Getting a lead on the third day in Colombo was crucial. Tamim has been doing really well in all formats in the last year. He is a senior citizen and he is showing it in the middle. These boys are an emotional bunch, sometimes when they get close {to victory], they get ahead of emotions. That will get better with pressure cricket at the highest level. I can't go hard on Tamim's dismissal. He had earlier hit a similar shot for a six.

3.50pm Indications were that Mushfiq might have been axed for this landmark Test. He has hung on under pressure to steer Bangladesh home. It was Tamim, though, who had laid a rock-solid foundation with a vital half-century - one of his best Test innings. He showed assured footwork against spin: he was right forward to blunt full balls or right back to deal with the short balls. He then opened up with crunching drives, reverse sweeps and lofts. One such loft landed on the glass of a corporate box on the second floor. Sabbir Rahman, picked over Mahmudullah, showed excellent judgement and composure as well in a century stand with Tamim. The two set batsmen exited in quick succession, but Mushfiq helped Bangladesh past the late hiccups.

This loss could scar Sri Lanka cricket as Karunaratne put it. Their winning run at home has come to a grinding halt.

3.45pm Mushfiq has his hands aloft. Mehedi hugs him.Great scenes in the Bangladesh camp. This is also Bangladesh's first Test win against Sri Lanka. They bask in glory.

Shakib: It is a great feeling, winning a Test in Sri Lanka. This is the 100th Test, nothing better than that. The way we are improving, we will win some games in the future. We are having a very good time at home. We will have to play better away from home. We knew we could chase down 200 here. We knew if we apply we can score runs. Nos.9 and 10 batted well for Sri Lanka when we wanted to restrict them to 150.

Tamim: There was something for the bowlers in the pitch but we were very determined. What we decided was to bat long. Sabbir played excellently. All in all, it was a great win. The way Mosaddek batted in the first innings and he took the pressure away in the second. He is a player to watch out.

Anirban Roy: "This is the most memorable test match for Bangladesh team & the supporters of Bangladesh......... (★_★)"

Tharaka Jasenth: "As happy as I am for Bangladesh, I can't help but think this is the saddest day in cricket for Sri Lanka. Perhaps this humiliating defeat is the reality check they needed but the scars are not just skin deep. Big problems, big questions. "

Madhur Kapoor: "Great win for Bangladesh.. beating Sri Lanka at home is one of the toughest things in test cricket. Well done.. "
