11.00pm Righto, with that it's a wrap from the first T20. Join us for the second one on October 5 in Cuttack. Till then, see ya.

10.40pm What an enthralling finish, what a start to the tour. South Africa won two-thirds of that chase - the start and the finish. However, it must be said that SA have a lot to thank for that start from their openers. India did pull the game back nicely through the middle with spin and R Ashwin's masterful variations, which made India favourites. But, Farhaan Behardien and JP Duminy played it expertly through that middle and bided their time. JP waited for the left-armer and punished that over for 22 - a match-changing over. Subsequently, the pair found singles and twos and found the boundaries too. Eventually, the one full toss from the debutant, S Aravind sealed a fantastic win for South Africa, considering their chasing problems. Great start to the tour for SA, but India have a lot to take from this match as well.

JP Duminy is the man of the Match: 'Definitely one of my best innings. The way we started the innings was what we wanted in the chase. We batted quite well in the middle and built a good partnership with fudge(Behardien). We both said we have to take it on, we don't want to die wondering towards the end. We knew if we could get it down to 10-11 off the last over, we had a good chance. Fortunately enough, the left-armer missed his lengths and gave me an opportunity. It's a long tour for us but we have started well and we are happy with this performance.

MS Dhoni: 'We had something close to par, but there was dew, high altitude. There were periods where we conceded too many runs. That puts a lot of pressure on the bowlers. Any over above 20, it puts a lot of pressure. Even when we don't get decisions in our favour, it changes the match. I could have gone with raina, but seeing the conditions it's quite difficult over here. Axar does bowl well, whether against right or left hander. Execution is crucial on a wicket like this and a outfield like this. We have to encourage the opposition to play false shots and get wickets.'

Faf du Plessis: 'I think it did get a little wet towards the end. But what a great game of cricket, both sides got 200. Great innings from Rohit there at the start. Today was one of those days when the bowlers were under the pump. Great innings from JP, paced it really well and well-supported by Behardien.

Farhaan Behardien: 'I spoke to AB before going in and he told me to be busy. We wanted to put pressure on the fielders with our running. I'm very glad it came off today. JP has recently become a dad and he showed his class today, let's hope it continues throughout the tour. We all try and emulate MS Dhoni(with respect to finishing capabilities), we also have Michael Hussey today. Important innings for me too.

Aravind to Duminy, 1 run, he seals the victory by tapping the ball sensibly towards the leg side and running a single, Duminy has played a terrific innings - with a couple of helpings of luck - hitting seven sixes to go with a solitary boundary. He raises his hand in celebration and punches the air after giving South Africa the series lead
Aravind to Duminy, SIX runs, that's the deciding shot! Aravind misses the yorker length and Duminy pulls with all his might, smashing the ball into the stands at deep midwicket. These two have added more than a 100 now!
Aravind to Duminy, 2 runs, a superb ball, in the blockhole again, but Duminy digs it out on the off side and the timing is not very good so they have the time to race back for the second, there's a direct hit at the keeper's end but Duminy is safe and he has the strike
Aravind to Behardien, 1 run, in the blockhole, dug out on the leg side, just past the bowler and they run a single

South Africa need only ten off the final over, but they do not have the dangerous Duminy on strike. The debutant Aravind to bowl the final over, what a responsibility!

Forlorn faces in the crowd as South Africa race away with this game ...

Kumar to Duminy, SIX runs, that's a poor ball, he was aiming for the yorker but it finished a full toss on leg stump, Duminy gets under it and swings the ball over the deep midwicket boundary
Kumar to Duminy, FOUR runs, that was nearly in the blockhole but Duminy has played a superb shot, he gets to fifty by getting down low and drilling it hard and straight, beating the fielder at long on

MM Sharma to Duminy, 2 runs, the yorker, Duminy mis-times the drive but places it into a gap near mid-on, they run two before Kohli can prevent it
MM Sharma to Behardien, 1 run, a slower ball outside off, Behardien waits in his crease and punches the ball hard towards wide long off, Kohli sprints to his left and fields the ball after the first bounce and releases it quickly, keeping the batsmen to a single
MM Sharma to Behardien, no run, full and wide outside off, Behardien flays at the ball and edges it, it bounces before Dhoni who does well to collect it
MM Sharma to Duminy, 1 leg bye, an appeal for lbw but that pitched outside leg, Duminy missed the short-arm pull and was hit on the front pad by a slower ball
MM Sharma to Duminy, SIX runs, Duminy clears the man at long off! The ball was full outside off, Duminy clears his front foot and slams it flat and high enough to beat the boundary rider

  • Jean-Paul Duminy38 (23b)

Kumar to Duminy, 1 run, a full ball that is driven to long on, just the single
Kumar to Duminy, no run, good length just outside off, angling across Duminy who heaves across the line and is beaten
Kumar to Duminy, 2 runs, a low full toss, Duminy whips it off his pads towards cow corner
Kumar to Duminy, 1 wide, a full toss down leg side, Duminy misses the pull but that is a wide
Kumar to Duminy, 2 runs, inside edged to fine leg and they come back for the second
Kumar to Duminy, 2 leg byes, a huge appeal for lbw after the yorker crashes into Duminy's boot as he misses the flick. That's absolutely plumb. Bhuvneshwar isn't usually the emotional sort but he is quite angry. They run two leg byes
