9.30pm: Right, that's it for tonight, we'll be back to bring you the ODI series, starting on Friday. Thanks for your comments, from Alex and I, cheerio.

9.20pm: Presentations time... South Africa captain Justin Ontong: "It's massive, we owe it to ourselves, we've played some outstanding cricket but Chris Gyale was just too good. Credit to West Indies, we gave them everything but they gave it back. Morne's hundred was great and I'm a proud skipper tonight. We were very hungry, we knew we'd let ourselves down i the last two games. All the best to the boys, I'm sure it will be a fascinating one-day series. We'd like to thank the fans as well."

Morne van Wyk is Man of the Match for his unbeaten 117: "Pretty amazing, really capped it off, contributing to a win like that. We came out and did ourselves proud and David Wiese really bowled well. There was a certain gentleman missing from their line-up, which probably gave our bowlers a chance. It slowed down a little bit and we bowled in the right areas. I spoke to Wiese and we thought the slower balls are holding up, we knew if one of us gets to the end we'd have a good total. A score in excess of 170 was going to be challenging. [Wiese's bowling] Well done to him, we needed something like and to take five wickets in four overs is a special effort."

Chris Gayle is named Man of the Series. Whodathunkit? He's not talking tonight, though. Here's West Indies captain Darren Sammy: "I've got to commend the boys on the way they played after the Test series loss. The first two games were a total team effort, we wanted to win tonight but we'll take the series win. We've said it time and time again, T20 is a format we're very experienced in, we have players playing all over the world - to have that experience in the dressing room, we can turn up and any given day someone can win a match for you. SA are very experienced [in ODIs], I'd like to wish the new captain Jason Holder the best. We have to gel together and give him full support."

9.15pm: So, this time the West Indies chase fizzled out, without some Gayle force at the top of the innings. South Africa's reservists have salvaged some pride, largely thanks to Morne van Wyk's maiden international hundred and a five-for from David Wiese.

de Lange to Cottrell, OUT, full and straight, bowled him! The stumps go zing as Cottrell is defeated all ends up, that finishes it off in style - South Africa win by 69 runs and pull back some respectability, losing the series 2-1

SS Cottrell b de Lange 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

de Lange to Pollard, 1 run, pitched up around off stump, Pollard goes back and steers a single behind square

In comes Sheldon Cottrrell, the end nigh. Batsmen crossed, so Pollard on strike

de Lange to Nurse, OUT, full and straight, tries to get his feet out of the way... and chips to mid-on! He was set to hit down the ground but completely mistimed it, looped the ball up to Duminy

AR Nurse c Duminy b de Lange 3 (7m 5b 0x4 0x6) SR: 60.00

de Lange to Nurse, no run, banged in short, too quick for Nurse, who ducks underneath it
de Lange to Pollard, 1 run, yorker from de Lange, well directed on off stump but Pollard spots it, nudges a single to midwicket
de Lange to Nurse, 1 run, slighlty short and in the channel, chops a single into the covers

De Lange to bowl the penultimate over. Is Pollard playing for red ink?

Abbott to Nurse, 1 run, good length on off stump, Nurse plays an attractive-looking on drive for one

"Pollard is playing for a draw," chuckles Usman

Abbott to Pollard, 1 run, shortish, steps back and clumps down the ground with a horizontal bat, long-on collects
Abbott to Pollard, no run, rolls his fingers over the ball, wide in the channel and Pollard flails at it unsuccessfully
Abbott to Pollard, 1 wide, very short from Abbott, miles over the batsman
Abbott to Pollard, 2 runs, length outside off, Pollard frees the arms and crunches towards long-off, the fielder has to run to his left, they'll get two
Abbott to Nurse, 1 run, slightly short and outside off, chops the ball hard through point to the sweeper
Abbott to Pollard, 1 run, full length outside off, Pollard leans out and dabs

Three overs (or two wickets) to go. Abbott back on, Ashley Nurse the new batsman

Wiese returns excellent figures of 5 for 23 and SA are almost there

Wiese to Brathwaite, OUT, length ball on the stumps, Brathwaite spanks it straight to deep midwicket! That's five for Wiese... They've been trying to hit the cover off him all night but still West Indies are none the Wiese

CR Brathwaite c Hendricks b Wiese 1 (2m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

Wiese to Pollard, 1 run, worked into the leg side, just one there
Wiese to Brathwaite, 1 run, goes full and around off stump, manages to flick this away to leg walking across his stumps
Wiese to Sammy, OUT, tries to cut but it's too close, top-edged to backward point! That's pretty much a wrap, Wiese has his fourth wicket, best bowling in T20Is. Had to manufacture the power, again the cutter coming back in, miscued to the edge of the circle

DJG Sammy c Ontong b Wiese 8 (10m 9b 0x4 0x6) SR: 88.88

Wiese to Pollard, 1 run, fuller, taking all the pace off it, Pollard swings hard but doesn't time it, the ball dribbles through midwicket
Wiese to Sammy, 1 run, slower delivery, sits up but Sammy can only thrash one through the covers

Wiese to bowl out

Phangiso to Sammy, 1 run, tossed up and punched on the half-volley back down the ground - another single, but West Indies needs more than that. They've only scored two boundaries since the Powerplay
Phangiso to Pollard, 1 run, shorter length, pulled through the leg side for one more
