Scorecard
Fifties from Lahiru Thirimanne, Dinesh Chandimal and Thilina Kandamby set up Sri Lanka A's six-run win (D/L method) in a rain-hit game against West Indies A at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.
After being inserted, Sri Lanka A recovered from the early loss of their openers inside six overs to post 245 for 8. Thirimanne top-scored with 74, which included six fours and a six, and added 105 for the third wicket with Chandimal, who provided ample support during a 74-ball 60. Ronsford Beaton, Kraigg Brathwaite and Nikita Miller each picked up two wickets to dent the hosts' progress, but Kandamby, coming in at No.6, slammed 58 off 40 balls to add a late surge.
West Indies A, in reply, began solidly, but their lack of acceleration ultimately hurt them. Brathwaite was the team's top scorer with 24 not out and part of a 40-run opening stand with Nkrumah Bonner, but when rain prematurely ended the game after 20 overs, the visitors were only 71 for 2, and six runs short according to the D/L method.
Dushmantha Chameera and Lakshan Rangika both snared a scalp apiece for Sri Lanka A.
