Rory Kleinveldt is the Man of the Match. Kleinveldt: "It's not going to get any worse after the first Test. It has just been a lot of hard work in the nets. Wicket today was a bit up and down, not as good as the wickets in Austrlia. Am always keen to use my bouncer, as a dot ball or a wicket-taking option. Different conditions in East London, will be a bit slower than it was here."
Faf du Plessis: "No complaints, fantastic game, very happy. I enjoyed thinking on the field, the game was going at more than a million miles an hour. The bowling was fantastic, the energy on the field was awesome, cannot ask anything more of the guys."
Brendon McCullum: "We played some aggressive cricket and missed a couple of fundamentals on the way. South Africa exposed us, That is how we are going to be, that is the way we are going to put them under pressure, by playing aggressive. You have got to earn the right to be aggressive. we were probably a bit too keen, we were outplayed. We will be up for it, and hopefully have a much improved performance."
New Zealand have been comprehensively Kleined and Faffed tonight. One can only hope that this being the first match of the tour has something to do with their refusal to play to the conditions when they batted. There was just too much bounce for the pull to come off consistently from a good length, and for New Zealand to keep playing stroke after reckless stroke like they did
