13.45 So it's sounding very much like a different Sri Lanka will take to the field in Jo'Burg, Dhananjaya de Silva, Lahiru Kumara and Kasun Rajitha likely to miss the rest of the series.

With that, I will offer thanks from myself, Alan and Raghav for your wonderful company. Until next time.

13.35 Dimuth Karunaratne, the Sri Lanka captain, hints that there will be changes forced by those injuries to his team for the second Test, starting in Johannesburg on Sunday. "As a batting unit, I'm really happy... We suddenly lost our main fast bowlers and Dhananjaya. We lost a couple of members of the squad but we have already a couple of youngsters, I hope they will do the job for me in the second Test match."

"We batted really well and we need to keep that momentum and a positive mindset when we go to Wanderers. We're not worried about the injuries. we have plenty of players, so I'm happy to go with them, still we have a couple of bowlers and we'll try to take the positives from here."

Quinton de Kock, the South Africa captain, says that despite letting Sri Lanka amass a good first-innings total, he was pleased with his side's performance. "A Test match is never easy. It's been a year since we've won one so it feels good at this moment. On day one we were a bit disappointed with our bowling performance... we came back really nicely towards the end of our bowling spell. We then came out with the bat... showed some great character. Coming into the third innings, the boys came out with great intent with the ball and to finish off the way we did, it's very pleasing."

13.25 Here's the best from Man of the Match Faf du Plessis: "Personally I'm very proud of my CV, which is 199, which unfortunately one short, but it's always good to contribute in a big way to set your team up for a win... I haven't played a red-ball game in almost a year. For me it was just making sure I get back to the basics of Test cricket."

13.09 With Dhananjaya de Silva too badly hurt to bat, so ends the pain for Sri Lanka, with the hosts wrapping up victory within half an hour of the middle session. The highlight has to be Faf du Plessis' 199 on the third day. Wiaan Mulder's bowling performance has been encouraging for one so young (he's just 22) and all of South Africa's seamers did well, with two wickets apiece for Mulder, Ngidi, Nortje and Sipamla.

Hasaranga was gallant with ball and then bat, scoring a second-innings fifty, but the talking point is undoubtedly the injuries that have decimated Sri Lanka's squad. What sort of side will they manage to stitch together for the second Test?
