India 300 all out The crowd rises to Rahul Dravid, who carries his bat for 146. Incredible innings from a wonderful player. Shame about his team-mates. India did, finally, reach 300, but could not manage a run more. There are 35 overs left in the day and we suspect England have enforced the follow on but we don't know as yet. Solid performance from England, they were made to work harder on a flat deck, bodes well for the winter's work. Confirmation that England have enforced the follow on. Wonder what Dravid will do? He's so in the zone maybe he should just pop back and do it all again. This table shows just how impressive Dravid's effort was.

Bresnan to Sreesanth, OUT, that's it. Sreesanth drives this straight to short cover

Bresnan to Sreesanth, no run, slower ball from Bresnan left alone outside off stump

To enforce or not to enforce, that is the question. For Andrew Strauss. But not yet, first Sreesanth is in town! England's fielders are full of chatter to him and he has a few things to say back. I am a big fan of Sreesanth, do wish he'd bowl quicker though

W
Bresnan to Singh, OUT, top catch from Anderson at third slip ends RP Singh's fun! Short ball that RP thought about playing, then leaving, then guiding, which he seemed to do off the face of that bat and it flew quickly to Anderson who pouched it above his head

RP Singh c Anderson b Bresnan 25 (27m 23b 5x4 0x6) SR: 108.69

Meanwhile, the England bowlers - all of them - have been complaining about the foot holes.

Bresnan to Singh, no run, Bresnan jumped wide to angle this in, but too much and it headed down leg
93.2
1
Bresnan to Dravid, 1 run, It's taken 17 days and seven innings but finally India have reached 300. Rightly it's Dravid who gets them to that dubious landmark with a firm cut to deep point
93.1
4
Bresnan to Dravid, FOUR runs, this is such a supreme shot from Dravid. Opening the face, playing it late and almost driving behind him to the third man boundary

Good move here from Strauss, here's Tim Bresnan. England's quickest bowler? I suspect, on average, he might be. I also think he has the best bouncer in the team.

Swann to Singh, no run, after the boundary comes defence. RP Singh has batted much much better than he bowled
92.5
4
Swann to Singh, FOUR runs, having prodded at one RP decided slugging is the better option and swats this to cow corner. 300 looming!

Swann to Singh, no run, sharp spin! Really ragged back, bounced too. Hit the pads but it was heading down leg
92.3
1
Swann to Dravid, 1 run, whipped into the leg side to bring RP on strike
92.2

Swann to Dravid, no run, touch shorter this time which allows the ball to spin but Dravid blocks securely from the back foot
92.1

Swann to Dravid, no run, tidy start at around off stump, gentle turn. Ball hits Wall

Thanks Liam. What he didn't say is that this cake was baked by the fine hands of his better half Robyn, so much thanks to her. Oh, here's Graeme Swann.

END OF OVER:
92 | 5 Runs | INDIA: 290/8

  • RP Singh21 (18b)
  • Rahul Dravid140 (261b)
  • Stuart Broad21-3-51-2
  • James Anderson16-7-49-2

And with that, I'll hand commentary over Sahil Dutta, who is tucking into a slice of carrot cake as I write this.

91.6

Broad to Singh, no run, another short delivery is safely negotiated by the tailender
91.5
0
Broad to Singh, no run, much better direction from Broad! He rattles RP's splice with a good bouncer
91.4
0
Broad to Singh, no run, well, this was supposed to be a bouncer, with a short leg and a leg slip in place, but it sails harmlessly down the leg side

Broad stays round the wicket to RP.

91.3
1
Broad to Dravid, 1 run, this one is short, but Dravid rides the bounce well, nudging the ball off his ribs into the leg side for a single
91.2
0
Broad to Dravid, no run, this isn't all that short, and it's angled across Dravid, who leaves alone

And with that, Broad switches to round the wicket. Will he attempt to unsettle Dravid with the short ball?
