Tsotsobe stars in six-wicket win

Lonwabo Tsotsobe and Johan Botha restricted Pakistan to 119 before Colin Ingram and JP Duminy revived the chase from a wobbly 26 for 3 with a 66-run partnership to push South Africa to victory

It was the batting that let Pakistan down, as it has for quite a while now. This was not a batting track on which 119 was going to be sufficient. Lonwabo Tsotsobe got the early wickets, Botha struck in the middle and Pakistan just couldn't get a partnership going. Shoaib Akhtar gave Pakistan hope with a couple of early wickets, but first JP Duminy and then Colin Ingram made sure South Africa made it home.

We're waiting for the presentation ceremony to get underway. Btw, it's a sad day for sports fans: Paul the Octopus, who famously and accurately predicted results in this year's football World Cup, has died.

Also, Cricinfo has a revamped Twitter account where you can get all the cricket you need in 140 characters. Check it out here.

Saad writes in: "If Pakistan had Michael Hussey as the senior citizen instead of Misbah, Pakistan would've posted at least 40 more runs and maybe won this match. Hussey is Australia's Baba (Pakistan term for a respectable old man) and Misbah is Pakistan's. When top order collapses, Australia's baba tries to keep the strike and makes runs. Pakistani baba gives the strike to the tail on 1st ball of the over... a very sad realization especially if you are a Pakistani!"

JP Duminy is the Man of the Match: "Definitely felt the pressure, it wasn't easy, stuck it out there, boys finished it nicely. All in all a good wicket but it was a two-paced one. Hopefully I can maintain my form."

Shahid Afridi: "Bad performance form the batsmen, we should learn from these guys how to build partnerships. We missed the chance to make 150-160 on a good batting track. We should be more mature in our batting, we should be more focussed, especially our youngsters who know how important these games can be for their career." Afridi also thanks the South Africans for pledging their match fees for the flood victims in Pakistan.

Johan Botha: "We have played with these young guys for a month now and they have done well for us and it was very satisfying to see them perform again. I expect tomorrow will also be a tight match since Pakistan is a tough opponent."

If you missed any of the action, Sriram Veera has summed it up in his bulletin here.

That's it from us at Cricinfo. Thanks for all the mails and do join us for tomorrow's game. Till then its goodbye from Nitin Sundar, Gopi and Sid Ravindran.
