Full commentary

New Zealand win the game by five wickets with more than 22 overs to spare. A comprehensive victory for the home side who made short work of Bangladesh's 183.

It must be said, Bangladesh's bowlers fought hard but they simply didn't have enough runs on the board to defend on a flat pitch. Shafiul was again the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh, with three for 49, while Rubel also showed some hostility and potential although he went at over seven an over, no mean feat with Ross Taylor firing on all cylinders.

Once again Bangladesh's batsmen let them down however their one shining light was the innings played by Mushfiqur who battled hard for the majority of his innings and then utilised the batting power play at the death to elevate the team score past 180. Mushfiqur finished with 86 off 107 balls and received good support from Naeem (43) with the pair putting on 101 for the seventh wicket, a record against all teams.

For the home team, McKay showed he is capable of good consistent pace and channels in taking two for 17 off ten, while Butler claimed three for 43. Taylor was dynamite with the bat, scoring 78 off just 52 balls with six fours and five sixes. Guptill and Ingram played nicely too but failed to push on after getting good starts and Franklin will be pleased with 20 not out.

Ross Taylor receives the Man of the Match award for his scintillating hitting display, also passing 2000 runs in ODI's.

All attention moves to AMI Stadium in Christchurch on Thursday where New Zealand will look to grab a 3-0 series sweep and Bangladesh will look to restore some pride after two poor performances in the ODI series to date.
