9.22pm If you thought this series was going to be one-sided, think again. You'd be forgiven for thinking so, after the drubbing in the Test series. But we've had an Indian win, a tie and, now, a West Indian win. First time ever that India have lost at home when Kohli has scored a century, and only the second time it's happened anywhere in the world. But this game was really an exposure of an old ailment in the Indian ODI team: an underexposed middle order. Rohit and Dhawan failed today, and that meant the middle order was tested. That's such a rare occurrence these days. Has been that way for a while now. And they failed, with Dhoni nicking off early, and Rayudu and Pant failing to convert starts. To make matters worse for India, they were a batsman short as they picked five bowlers in place of the allrounder Jadeja. Even so, this all seemed perfectly set up for another Indian win, with Kohli winning the toss, electing to field, and conditions expected to ease out for batting as the evening set in in Pune. All that was rendered redundant the moment the middle order was exposed. They need to find a way around this, or they could struggle against tougher tests as the World Cup approaches.

Great game for Ashley Nurse, who shored up West Indies with a late onslaught and then grabbed two wickets. Holder produced a ripper to get Rohit Sharma, and then got MS Dhoni edging behind. Not to forget Shai Hope's measured 95 as he held up an end and built the innings while India chipped away. Great game overall for West Indies.

"Whatever's required for the team. We lost wickets, and I had to put up my hand," says Shai Hope. "My preparation stays the same. Not much I change in the nets or anything."

"I've been bowling in the nets much as I'm coming back from a knee injury," says Samuels. "But I need to keep getting stronger. Watching Shai Hope today was heartwarming. He's been growing from strength to strength. He's (Hetmyer) fearless, chooses the right bowler and right moment. He's hungry and you should look for big things from Hetmyer as well. Very important going 1-1 into the next game. We're going to take the next game even more seriously. We're not looking to compete anymore, we're looking to win."

Time for presentations.

"We bowled well, the wicket wasn't offering much in the first 35 overs," says Virat Kohli. "In the later half, it became difficult. We should've been chasing 250-260, max, but that apart the bowling was fine. Just that we gave away a little in the last 10 overs and should've closed it out better. We couldn't get partnerships, which doesn't happen often. We were fine on the field. We didn't execute our plans properly. West Indies is an explosive side, capable of beating anyone on their day, and they deserved to win. When Hardik and Kedar both play, we get the extra bowling option. Kedar will come in next game which will give us better balance. We have to leave out one bowler, but we have six options to choose from. I don't want to talk about my batting. We should focus on the things we didn't do right today. I wanted to go after Marlon, but didn't execute it better. We have to take wins and losses in our stride, just a bad day in the office. We just need to execute our plans better."

"Credit to the boys. I thought we played an outstanding game," says Jason Holder. "It was important to go deeper for me, something to learn there, but credit to the guys. We hung in the game, which was very important. Nurse was outstanding, I know what to expect from him, so it was good to see him get wickets and keep things tight. I think the guys are learning better. We still have areas to touch upon."

Ahsley Nurse is Man of the Match. "I was able to play with free spirit. When Shai got out, I had to do something to get a big score," he says. "Always back yourself to win the game. Just dedicated my wickets to my friend to my good friend Sunny Sohail, whom I met in the CPL."

Right then, that is all we have from this game. Thank you for joining us tonight. Hope to have you all back for the fourth ODI in Mumbai. Goodnight from myself and Alagappan!

that will be all. Bumrah caught at slip. Tries to get cheeky and open the face but the bounce is a little disconcerting and he gets an edge to Holder

that's another one gone. Or so it seems. Khaleel walks off. Drags the backfoot out as he swings wildly across and makes no contact. Easy stumping for Hope
