Sibley, Jennings and Lawrence record tons in England Lions four-day match

Dom Sibley, Keaton Jennings and Dan Lawrence all made hundreds as England Lions began the four-day leg of their tour of Australia by putting in a strong showing with the bat at Hobart's Blundstone Arena.

Sibley and Jennings, who were this week named in the Test squad to travel to Sri Lanka next month, set up the day for the Lions with a 184-run stand for the second wicket. Jennings then combined with Lawrence to put on another 155 as the tourists cruised to 367 for 4 by the close.

"It's always a great feeling to raise your bat while wearing England colours and it was really enjoyable batting with Dom and Dan today," Jennings said "We played the Australian attack well to form two excellent partnerships and it was good to see those guys continuing their recent form with the bat.

"While I'd have liked to have batted out the day, we've put ourselves in a strong position to set a strong first-innings total and put pressure on the opposition."

Queensland quick Brendan Doggett picked up three of the four wickets to fall, as Cricket Australia XI endured a tough day in the field; legspinner Lloyd Pope saw his 19 overs disappear for 100 runs.

Doggett made the breakthrough early on when he had Zak Crawley, another member of England's Test party, caught for 2. Jennings and Sibley made good progress until Jack Edwards broke the stand in the afternoon session, and Doggett then removed Sam Northeast without scoring in the next over.

Essex's Lawrence, in good form during the 50-over series, batted freely to become the third batsman to bring up three figures and although Doggett had Jennings caught behind for 141, the Lions had already enjoyed a productive day.
