knocks a slower ball into the off side and that completes the chase
NZ (W) vs Australia(W), 2nd T20I at Brisbane, Sep 27 2020, New Zealand Women tour of Australia
Australia(W) won by 8 wickets (with 20 balls remaining)
Australia win by eight wickets and that was a cakewalk from the home side. A dominant performance from start to finish and they take the series with a game to spare. New Zealand have a lot of thinking to do. Their batting order feels underpowered and they need to find some more spin options. For Australia, they are a magnificently well-oiled machine despite just having six months off. Will be interesting if they feel the need to rotate any players for the third match on Wednesday.
Player of the Match is Sophie Molineux for her 2 for 17.
I'll wrap things up there for today. Thanks for joining us and I'll be back on Wednesday for the final match of the series to see if New Zealand can find a way of matching Australia. Until then, from Andrew McGlashan, it's goodbye.
down the leg side, Lanning swipes and misses...glances the thigh pad
works a length ball into midwicket
full at the stumps, tapped into the off side
short outside off, driven to deep cover
tucked from outside off to deep square
short outside off, steps back and pulls to deep midwicket
chopped off the bottom edge into the pitch
dropped, that would have been a blinder from Bates at long-on...Haynes going straight down the ground again, Bates made a lot of ground and flung herself horizontal to her right
pumped down the ground, excellent footwork and lofted over mid-off...just short of being six
back of a length at leg stump, worked to deep square as the target gets chipped down
slower ball outside off, pushed to point
thumped down the ground, gave herself a touch of room and drove it over Mair's head
nudged off the pads into midwicket
full and well down the leg side, brings up the fifty stand with the wide
full at the stumps, worked off the pads to fine leg
pulls quite a full delivery off the stumps out to deep square
another one run down to third man
full at middle and leg, pushed firmly to mid-on
crunched! That sounded good off the bat. Short of a length outside off, pulled sweetly to deep square
