And now Dhoni goes to collect the Champions Trophy. Maybe for the last time? Who knows. Off go the fireworks and there go the celebrations. Fully deserved for India. And on that note, I'll sign off this commentary. Thanks for your company over the last few weeks. Don't the forget the cricket continues to come thick and fast with England-New Zealand T20s, the tri-series in West Indies and then the Ashes. Hopefully you will join us for all those. For now, though, from Andrew McGlashan, Alex Winter and George Binoy it's goodbye.

MS Dhoni "When we were batting I just said get close to 130. The shower helped us because the ball was gripping later on. It's important to be positive. I said 'we are the No. 1-ranked team, let's play like that'. I knew the two-overs of Powerplay were crucial. I wanted to make them slog off the spinners. They all handled the pressure really well, in international cricket people talk about technique but it's the ones that deal with the pressure."

And here come the India team to collect their white jackets...still thousands in the ground to cheer them on.

The Man of the Match is Ravindra Jadeja: "I did well throughout the tournament and I was very positive. It was quite difficult to rotate the strike, so myself and Virat just tried to build a good partnership. I was enjoying the bowling on this wicket. The skipper always backs me when I bowl." Jadeja also wins the golden ball for the bowler with most wickets in the tournament.

Shikhar Dhawan wins the golden bat. "I'd dreamt of this, I'm really happy with it. The bouncy tracks suit my game. I worked hard in practice and in the warm-up games. It makes it more special because I was out of the side for a few years." Dhawan dedicates his award to the people caught up in the flooding in India at the moment.

Alastair Cook: "The first credit has to go the groundstaff to get a game. We've come up a little short. I though we bowled well, you'd take 130. It's tough to take at the moment. I think both sides found the pitch quite hard to bat on. You are always going to think of different reasons. I'm proud of the way the players have performed in this tournament. With 20-odd needed off 16 balls it was in our hands. There have been a lot of good performances, but at the moment we are a bit devastated."

8.45pm Think we are just about ready for the presentation. Not quite as dark as 2004 at The Oval, but it's getting there. Sourav Ganguly part of the presentation ceremony.

vishal: "Dhoni the only captain to won, T20, 50 over world cup and Champions trophy. What a luck guy he is !!"

You can look back on many close moments in this game: Bresnan's dive on the boundary that was given four, Trott's drop catch off Kohli, the Bell stumping. So often, 20-over games come down to those slim moments. And what about those four overthrows early in India's innings?

Sam: "Andrew: It is futile to look back at small things and assume if they had not happened things might have been different. These are all path dependent outcomes as academics call it i.e. a smaller target for England would have changed how India and England would have approached the chase!"

Dhaval: "Lets not forget the six from Sir R in last over of Bresnan." Indeed, another one

Shikhar Dhawan "Doing well overseas has been wonderful."

Dhanoop C: "MS Dhoni have really taken the team to the next level, the same way Ganguly did."

Ishant Sharma: "I was quite nervous, things were not going my way but I hold my nerve. I've done it times in the past so maybe that's why he [Dhoni] thought I could do it. We have to say thanks to the crowd, they have been tremendous, there are no words for them."

Abir Utsha: "That needed some guts!! Job well done Ashwin. Bowling a proper off spinner that stopped and turned is not a delivery you expect someone to bowl under the circumstances. True Guts!!!"

India held their nerve, England lost theirs. When Morgan and Bopara were going England were in control, but that over from Ishant (who had been expensive) changed the game in the blink of an eye and England could not get back in the game. Did Dhoni really plan to use Ishant as he did? He may explain a little later. India's spinners, Jadeja and Ashwin, were outstanding on a pitch with plenty of assistance. So India have now won the World T20, the World Cup and the Champions Trophy 20/50. It also has to be said that India were the best, most consistent team, in this tournament. This was the only match where their batting struggled and their bowlers bailed them out. I'll, of course, be staying around to bring you the presentation shortly.

19.6
Ashwin to Tredwell, no run

beaten by the turn! India win! Was a touch short, went to carve it off the back foot and missed. Job done by Ashwin

So it's five for a Super Over...six for a win. Just get it straight, Ashwin

19.5
2
Ashwin to Tredwell, 2 runs

goes straight down the ground, but not with much power, and it lobs towards long-on...another couple

19.4
2
Ashwin to Tredwell, 2 runs

it's all happened there! Tredwell cracks it towards mid-off where the fielder makes an excellent one-handed diving save then there's a run-out appeal, but Broad just makes it back to the non-striker's end

19.3
1
Ashwin to Broad, 1 run

short outside off, it turns and Broad can only get the bottom of the bat towards cover

19.2
4
Ashwin to Broad, FOUR runs

low full toss, he sweeps it cleanly off the stumps and beats square leg who is inside the circle

19.1
Ashwin to Broad, no run

big turn, big swing and a miss from Broad...neat take from Dhoni, they check for stumping but the dot ball is just as important. In fact, it was close to another stumping but this time Oxenford decided the foot wasn't raised

Ashwin: 3-1-6-2. Last over of the tournament coming up...

end of over 194 runs • 2 wickets
ENG: 115/8CRR: 6.05 RRR: 15.00
Stuart Broad2 (2b)
James Tredwell1 (1b)
Ravindra Jadeja 4-0-24-2
Ishant Sharma 4-0-36-2

So Ashwin has 14 runs to play with...you feel it will be plenty. England lost the plot after Morgan's wicket. Brave captaincy from Dhoni

18.6
1
Jadeja to Broad, 1 run

full and drilled down the ground, Broad was desperate to come back for a second but there was no chance

Sidharth: "How does Dhoni do it every time!?? Joginder Sharma 6 years back. Now Ishant Sharma!"

18.5
1
Jadeja to Tredwell, 1 run

heave across the line, balls bobbles from the pad into the off side and it could have been another run out

18.4
W
Jadeja to Bresnan, OUT

England imploding! Went for the sweep, huge appeal for lbw which was given not out, Bresnan charged out for the run which was never on and Rohit was quickly in from cover with Bresnan stranded

Tim Bresnan run out (RG Sharma/†Dhoni) 2 (4b 0x4 0x6 6m) SR: 50
18.3
1
Jadeja to Broad, 1 run

driven off the back foot to cover, picks out cover and sets off straight away...Broad dives and, for some reason, Jadeja doesn't even attempt to take the bails off

Samuel: "DHONI has to be the luckiest captain on earth - even on the worst of days, he would have his players backing him up one way or another, his plans hardly ever backfire." Don't you make your own luck?

18.2
W
Jadeja to Buttler, OUT

there you go...floated up on middle stump, he has a huge heave, is nowhere near it and gets his middle stump hit. Not Buttler's finest hour

Jos Buttler b Jadeja 0 (1b 0x4 0x6 7m) SR: 0

Slip stays in...

18.1
1
Jadeja to Bresnan, 1 run

worked off leg stump out to deep midwicket...he had a slip in place for that ball

Ahmed: "one billion indians questioning as to why he bowled Ishant in this over will be quiet now."

Sriram: "I take my comment back, Dhoni once again proves what a master cool tactician he is!!". Here comes the Powerplay. Two overs left. It's Jadeja

end of over 189 runs • 2 wickets
ENG: 111/6CRR: 6.16 RRR: 9.50
Tim Bresnan1 (2b)
Jos Buttler0 (0b)
Ishant Sharma 4-0-36-2
Ravindra Jadeja 3-0-20-1
17.6
1
Sharma to Bresnan, 1 run

another short delivery, steps to leg and carves it down to third man so it will be Bresnan to take strike

17.5
Sharma to Bresnan, no run

top ball! Blimey. Short of a length, jags away from Bresnan and beats the outside edge

You feel it's Buttler or bust for England now, but how will he cope with the spin in the last two overs?

What a few minute for Ishant. He appeared to be costing India the game and now he could have won it for them

17.4
W
Sharma to Bopara, OUT

and another! That could be the game. A short ball, Bopara drills it out of the middle of the bat but picks out the square leg inside the circle

Ravi Bopara c Ashwin b I Sharma 30 (25b 0x4 2x6 40m) SR: 120

Did Morgan really need to play that aggressive option then? He clearly had Ishant in his sights. Over to Bopara - 20 off 15 needed

17.3
W
Sharma to Morgan, OUT

what a moment! Zero to hero in the space of a ball. Tries to pick this up from outside off over midwicket, but it was quite wide and it looped off the bottom of the bat towards the man inside the circle. To be fair to Ishant, that was quite ballsy as he rolled his fingers across the seam and it deceived Morgan

Eoin Morgan c Ashwin b I Sharma 33 (30b 3x4 1x6 44m) SR: 110

MS Dhoni is the master of cool, but this will test even him

17.3
1w
Sharma to Morgan, 1 wide

another wide, he's losing the plot in this over, and this one barely hits the cut strip

Biplab: "Again Ishanth... Wats goin on in Dhonis mind ?". Ishant comes around the wicket

17.3
1w
Sharma to Morgan, 1 wide

extra ball, extra run...that's pressure...sprayed wide outside off stump

17.2
6
Sharma to Morgan, SIX runs

clean hit! Short on leg stump, awful delivery, and Morgan hooks it away off leg stump with even elevation to skim over the boundary

17.1
Sharma to Morgan, no run

swing and a miss to a short ball outside off stump...precious dot ball. Was a slower ball, so credit to Ishant

So it's 28 needed off 18 balls. Who's got the nerve? What a fantastic finish to a day of frustrations and rain. Does Dhoni bowl Ashwin now? No, it's Ishant. Vital, massive, immense over coming up. Now Powerplay yet from England. So it will be the last two overs.
