That's that from the commentary desk. Do join us tomorrow for more from the World Cup qualifiers. This is Shashank Kishore signing out. Do look out out for Akshay Gopalakrishnan's match bulletin.

Rashid Khan: Feeling happy. We didn't play well in the first round, but it's good to come back and start with a win. The bowlers did superbly to restrict a big team. It was nervous as the chase went on, we lost our way much like we did in the first round. I wanted to keep playing till the end, bat through. We knew we'd win if we did that.

Jason Holder: Credit to them, we let ourselves down. 230 would've been a good total. Later in the field, we were sloppy. With the bat, we had wickets in hand, a solid foundation but couldn't launch. We have to regroup and come back against Zimbabwe.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman is Player of the Match for his figures of 3 for 33. "This victory is to our people," he says through a translator. "I have no problem bowling with the new ball. I bowl with the new ball at training too, so I'm used to bowling in the powerplay. Nabi and Rashid have always supported me, the support of the senior players has been fantastic."

Jeevan Sanjay: "It is going to get tougher from here on out for West Indies! They will be facing Zimbabwe and Scotland in the coming days! If they lose even one of them, they would have to rely on other teams performing poorly to qualify."

A little closer than Afghanistan would've liked, but they'll take two points. They were cruising, but once again made it difficult for themselves with the loss of Rahmat. But the lower order held their nerve. On their part, West Indies were poor on the field, dropping two catches and missing a run-out.

Afghanistan nearly bottled what should have been a straightforward chase of 198, but the insurance provided by the brilliance of their spinners from earlier in the day just about bailed them out.

Paul to Sharafuddin, FOUR runs

those are the winning runs. Afghanistan live to fight another day. West Indies, unbeaten until today, have been brought to their knees. This should give Afghanistan so much confidence, such a big boost. That's one out of three. Nervy alright, but they still got the job done in the end. The man to thank with the bat: Rahmat Shah.

sees this in his arc, looks for the glory hit but can only hit this straight to long-on. Powell makes no mistake this time.

punched wide of backward point, now Powell has to run all the way around to his right, then slide, tumble and pull it back in. Target within touching distance now for Afghanistan. Down to single-digits
