Nielsen's debut ton resurrects South Australia

The son of former South Australia wicketkeeper Tim Nielsen scored a memorable 105 on his Shield debut to take his side past 350 after they lost early wickets

South Australia 9 for 357 (Nielsen 105, Lehmann 83, Mennie 75, Tremain 4-81) v Victoria
Scorecard
Harry Nielsen, son of the former South Australia wicketkeeper Tim Nielsen, made a memorable hundred on his Shield debut as a wicketkeeper-batsman for the Redbacks as they ran up a decent total after losing early wickets to Victoria at Adelaide Oval.
South Australia had slid to 5 for 126 against the Dukes ball after the stand-in captain Tom Cooper lost the toss, but were restored to first innings respectability by Nielsen and a fellow second-generation Redback Jake Lehmann - son of Australia coach Darren Lehmann - in a sixth-wicket stand worth 86.
Nielsen and Joe Mennie then added a critical 143 against a tiring Bushrangers bowling attack to take the Redbacks well beyond 300. Nielsen and Mennie fell within three balls of each other to the second new ball, but Daniel Worrall and Nick Winter saw the hosts through to stumps.
Chris Tremain was the best of the visitors' bowlers with four wickets, while Peter Siddle claimed two in the same ground where he had been a key player for Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League final on Sunday afternoon.
