Scorecard
George Bailey missed out on the chance for a big score in his final Ashes audition but Joe Burns, Chris Lynn and Ben Dunk all scored unbeaten half-centuries as the match between Queensland and Tasmania finished in a draw at Allan Border Field. Queensland were set an unlikely 375 for victory and ended up on 0 for 168, with Lynn on 72 and Burns on 63, after opener Nathan Reardon retired hurt on 26 when he was struck on the eye socket by a Ben Hilfenhaus ball.
For Lynn especially it was a continuation of a strong start to the Shield season - his scores in his first two matches of the summer have been 104, 61 not out, 81 and 72 not out. But Bailey was the batsman in this match considered the best chance for a call-up for the Gabba Test, and he had to settle for starts of 34 and 41.
Bailey was caught behind off the bowling of Luke Feldman after Ed Cowan was lbw to Cameron Boyce for 56, failing to have added to his overnight score. Dunk finished unbeaten on 81 as Tasmania reached 5 for 270 before the declaration came, but an outright result was always unlikely given Queensland's big chase.
