clubs a full delivery down to long-on
Sydney Sixers win by 33 runs and that's a superb performance with the ball and in the field. They only had 132 on the board, and had to fight for every one of those, but this was a difficult (and poor) T20 pitch. The Sixers spinners played a vital role, Ben Manenti on debut was outstanding as was Steve O'Keefe. Another good all-round day for Tom Curran as well with a vital hand with the bat followed by 3 for 18. Important win for the Sixers after two defeats, although they still have questions over the top order. The Renegades were well below their best with the bat and could have to contend with these home conditions all season. We'll be back tomorrow for Hobart Hurricanes against Perth Scorchers which will be Cameron Bancroft's return from his ban. See you for that but, for now, from Andrew McGlashan it's goodnight.
driven into the off side
slower ball, driven to deep cover
Stu Nairn: "Big Bash really hasn't lived up to its name this year."
digs out a yorker to the off side
close! A slower ball yorker which slips between the batsman's legs and leg stump
Tom Curran is on a hat-trick...won't have many better chances
low full toss which is clubbed to deep midwicket, good catch by the very safe Silk
37 needed off 6...good game to tie from here
full, wide outside off, jabbed to backward point
almost loses his off stump as a yorker goes between his legs as he tries to flick to the leg side
Pradipto: "The quality or lack of in these BBL games just shows the kind of talent available in AUS at the moment. Deeply disturbing"
full and straight, drilled down the ground
big swing at a length ball angled across him, flies down to third man
short of a length, completely mistimes a cross-batted swipe and it lobs over the bowler
over the wicket, lofted straight down the ground
moves across the crease and connects well with a scoop/flick, but goes straight to short fine leg
plays around a very full delivery outside off, probably beat him as a full toss
leg stump yorker, clipped to short fine leg. Would have been close with a direct hit
clipped off the toes through the leg side, splits deep midwicket and deep square leg
gets the yorker in, jabbed back to the bowler
back of a length outside off, crunched to deep midwicket
James: "What is up with all the average batting displays? Lack of smarts at the crease?"
finds long-on! And the Sixers close in further. He struck this pretty sweetly. Curran didn't quite get the yorker in, Wildermuth middled it over the leg side but didn't quite get the placement
full and straight, Boyce goes deep in his crease and creams this to long-on
