a slower short one, he swings and misses, through to the keeper
Stars vs Sixers, 34th Match at Melbourne, BBL, Jan 12 2020 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Melbourne Stars win by 44 runs on Marcus Stoinis' night to remember. A brilliant innings of 147 not out, a BBL record, in a BBL-record stand of 207 with Hilton Cartwright. One of those nights where you had to see it to believe it, especially the second half of the innings. The Sixers needed everything to go their way in the chase and it didn't. They couldn't get the platform needed to challenge such a huge total. The Stars extend their lead at the top and the Sixers stay second. Can anyone challenge them for the top two spots? That's all for tonight, we'll be back with Hobart Hurricanes v Perth Scorchers tomorrow. Until then, goodbye and thanks for joining us.
fires down a very short bouncer...it's called wide. So the games goes on a ball longer
back of a length, pulls and finds the gap again, in front of square this time...some rare treatment for Rauf
clears the boundary again! Rauf is full at off stump, in the slot, Dwarshuis heaves it over wide long-on
gives himself room to the leg side, swings hard at a short delivery, slices it over backward point
length ball at the stumps, crunched to deep midwicket
terrific yorker, he swings and gets an inside edge past leg stump
Sam: "So, thoughts on Man of the Match?" Tough call
back of a length outside off, misfield at mid-off as he flat-bats it
lofted down the ground, creeps over the long-on boundary...maybe he should have come in earlier?
full outside off, a thick outside edge flies one bounce to third man
full outside off, a big drive which doesn't make contact
full outside off, moves to the leg side and swings to deep midwicket
good catch at deep midwicket...a full ball on off stump, heaved into the leg side, Cartwright made that look very easy, he's such a good fielder. First BBL wicket for Morris
thump! Terrific shot...gives himself a touch of room to the leg side then drives through the line
a low full toss, driven down the ground
short on leg stump, he goes for the hook and gets it away to fine leg...finally a boundary for Silk
back of a length, heaved out to deep midwicket
gets an under edge on this hack, Gotch gets a glove on it as he dives
completely does him with the slower ball! Short of a length, Silk is through his leg-side swipe before the ball arrives
a googly, played off the back foot into the off side
