7.03pm The Sydney Sixers can only blame themselves for that performance, they threw their wickets away with such soft strokes that they quickly slumped to 5 for 46. Thereon, you rarely win matches. The Sixers kept fighting, but the damage was done. The Scorchers, clinical as they have been throughout this competition, did what they needed to, although they took that chase deeper than they would have wanted.

But with the job done, I doubt they'll care much. The Sixers have lost both their games so far, both primarily due to sub-par batting performances. A break will do them good, and they'll be back after the break.

Abbott to Turner, FOUR runs

and that is it. A slower ball on middle and leg, shovelled over midwicket and that will be it. A comfortable six-wicket win for the Scorchers

Scores level. The Scorchers will have a happy Christmas, the Sixers not so much

a short slower ball around off, inside-edged towards square leg

2 off 13.

Sams to Turner, SIX runs

far too easy to pick that slower delivery when it's that short. Turner stays back and clatters a pull over midwicket again. Another swat.

17.4
Sams to Turner, no run

fullish and wide outside off, tapped to Roy at point

1
Sams to Voges, 1 run

a slower short ball, he can't keep bowling there, too predictable, swatted to deep square leg

Sams to Voges, FOUR runs

lovely hit. A low full toss outside off, Voges offers the full face of the bat and drives languidly, straight past the stumps, four to mid-off

always expected that Voges would look for one. On a length outside off, carved off the open face to third man

Abbott to Turner, SIX runs

six more! And that should be the game. Shortish and slow on middle and off, goes back does Turner and swats another pull over midwicket. 40-love, more like game, set, match.

Abbott to Turner, SIX runs

full and straight, in the slot, Turner stays in his crease, clears his front leg and gives it a good thwack, clean swing over the bowler's head. Lovely hit

Abbott to Turner, 2 runs

shortish slower ball on middle, worked to midwicket for a couple. Lovely batting

Abbott to Voges, 1 run

good length outside off, carved to third man for a run

Brendan : "I think Sydney missed a trick by not bowling Abbott out earlier. He's been by far the most dangerous bowler. Perth don't need to go after him now, can just milk him for singles. " Here he is to try.
