Bowled him! Game over! Full on off, Fawad missed and Worrall hit
Strikers vs Scorchers, 17th Match at Adelaide, BBL, Dec 28 2020 - Match Result
The Strikers move to the top of the BBL table thanks to three wins and four Bash Boost points but they have played one more game than six other teams. The Scorchers are still winless after four games. Thanks for your company tonight. Join us again tomorrow for the BBL double-header.
Rashid Khan is Player of the Match. He was phenomenal making 29 off 13 with the bat to completely seize the momentum and then he bamboozled the Scorchers middle order.
Phil Salt: "It was great to get a win. Rash was in doubt but what a performance he put in tonight."
Adelaide Strikers win by 71 runs. That was comprehensive. Superb defensive display from the Strikers. The Scorchers starting brightly in the Powerplay but once Inglis fell the innings crumbled. It was the first game with the two England internationals out of quarantine but they would have hoped for a far better showing.
Anubhav : "What went wrong for the Scorchers? They were the number 1 BBL team until last 3 years and they haven't even looked mediocre those last 3 years. It's been a disaster. Was it Klinger leaving that triggered this?" It's completely different team now. They haven't gelled yet.
yorker on middle, he squeezes it to cover and takes on Rashid Khan. His throw just missed. Behrendorff was gone!
Sakush KC: "Woeful performance for the Scorchers. Even more so considering 11 out of their 13 players (Playing XI plus the 2 X-factors) have represented their country in international cricket. Scorchers showcasing that the game is not won on paper!"
full on middle, he defends to midwicket
bowled him with a cracking yorker! Full and speared into the base of off, he tried to drive but it slid under the bat and lit up off stump
nearly a run out! He drives to mid off and took on Worrall, the throw was wide but Behrendorff might have got here
yorker on middle, he digs this out to mid off
glanced past short fine! Poor delivery. Full and angled down leg and he just flicked it past the man in the circle
nailed straight to Rashid at cover! He's ringing his hands but the ball stuck! Full outside off, he cleared the front leg and carved it out of the screws straight to cover and Rashid pouches it. Good catch. He is getting some treatment from the physio after catching that but he is fine
HarryFD: "Danny Briggs starting to show why he's been such a consistent performer in the Blast, incredibly accurate and always seems one step ahead of the opposition, I think he bowls well with Rashid too as they've played together at Sussex with success previously. "
low full toss punched straight of mid off! Smart shot. He didn't try to over hit it, just checked a drive through the line and found the rope again
a brilliant lap fine! Full and speared at middle, he moved late and paddled it very fine past the man in the circle
137kph, low full toss, he clips this to mid on and strangely calls "No"
136kph, yorker, on middle, he jams it out to mid on. Well bowled
138kph, yorker on middle, he pushes this to mid off
yorker on leg, he can't do anything except clip this to the sweeper at deep square
full toss speared way down the leg side
Power Surge is taken. Agar on
lofted straight down the ground! Brave strike! A length ball, he got in a stride and lofted it straight at the sightscreen and it rolls to the rope
full on middle, back to the bowler
Adam: "Liam, I absolutely give the Strikers all credit - but this isn't the first or only time the Scorchers have thrown away wickets and collapsed for no reason. It happens every game!"
attempted paddle scoop first ball! He gets a top edge onto helmet and it falls safe into the off side
AJ Tye
clean bowled! Played all over it! Full and drifting into middle, he tried to whip through midwicket, the drift and drop saw it slide under the bat and crash into middle and leg
good length drifting into off, he's back and hurried trying to push through cover
