11.52pm So, that's all from us at ESPNcricinfo tonight. Don't forget to catch up on Ankur Dhawan's match bulletin and all the talking points from the game. All that and more on our homepage. Till then, it's time to bid goodbye. See you tomorrow evening. Adios!

RAVI KOMTI: "Just glad to see our BIG 3 coming in form, Virat, Dhawan and not Rohit.."

11.45pm Alright, then - here's the presentation.

Rohit Sharma, the winning captain AND the Man of the Match: "I thought it was better to lose the toss since we wanted to chase as well. But we knew whether we bat first or bowl first, we'll still have to play good cricket. We spoke about that at the start of the game, but it was a great effort by the boys since it's not easy to come here and play. We had to scrap for every run and every wicket, can't ask for much more. Rahul Chahar is a confident, young man. His approach is confident. His execution skills are very clear, so makes my job easier when I throw the ball at him. He knows what he needs to do and what the team expects from him. He's got variations, he's got skills. He's an exciting talent not just for us, but for India as well. Satisfying innings, mine. I was getting 30s and 40s but not getting half-centuries. At no point was I worried about my form because I was hitting the ball well. I knew the day will come, and I guess today was the day. It was a massive boost that MSD wasn't around. Because his presence does a lot for their team. When you don't have Dhoni when they're chasing the score, then it becomes difficult for them. I'm sure their presence was missed by CSK. But he was sick, it's not in his control either. But as I said, coming here and winning here isn't supposed to be easy. We're not yet in the playoffs, we know how quickly the tables can turn, so we need to play well against KKR and Sunrisers. We don't want to complicate things, we are clear as a team on what we want to execute. It won't pay off every day, but the boys have bee raising their hands at different occasions."

11.40pm We'll have the post-match presentation soon. Till then, here's a stat courtesy our statsman Gaurav Sundararaman - "The last time CSK lost while fielding first in chepauk was back in 2013 against Pune Warriors"

Srinivas Reddy: "Raina talking about batsmen taking responsibility is like devil talking about good, he himself didnt take the reaponsibility of anchoring the innings like rohit. Rohit did an amazing job by understanding the pitch and played an innings that helped mumbai indians. "

Maharaja Nihal : "My instinct says CSK will take revenge from MI in the finals...."

Vish Reddy: "Well done Mumbai! Just be careful this weekend.. All your loses have come in the weekends"

Apoorv gupta: "Unexpected!! Csk won 66.67% matches this season and their NRR is negative and on other hand srh having 50% win % have NRR of +0.6. csk habit of taking the game till last may cost them 1st or 2nd position."

11.36pm TALKING POINTS: Where did Chennai lose the plot? We dissect the game's big moments.

Krunal Pandya: "Wanted to bowl at a back-of-a-length. Wanted to bowl the fourth over, but team's victory is more important. And we got that result. When I went in to bat, we had wickets in hand, so I thought we have wickets so I wanted to go after the bowler early. Some days it goes well, some days you get out, but happy with my thought process. Love to take this sort of pitch to Mumbai, it's always special to play on this kind of surface. For us also, we know the conditions if we have to come here for the first qualifier."

11.33pm Suresh Raina, the losing captain: "We didn't bat well. We kept losing wickets every 2-3 overs, so our batsmen need to take more responsibility. Our bowling has always been good this season. We thought 155 was chaseable. But we lost too many wickets in the Powerplay and middle overs. We didn't rotate the strike well either. Important to go out there and see a few balls out, and then decide which bowler you want to go after. We need to sit as a batting unit and see where we're doing wrong. We have power hitters, we have experienced batsmen, we just need to relax as a batting unit and hopefully things fall in place."

11.30pm If there ever was a comprehensive victory, folks. Mumbai showed in the first innings, that, slow and steady does pay off. They were tentative in the middle overs, but with wickets in hand, did well to post 155. Chennai's batting looked off-colour today, and Mumbai's spinners choked the batsmen excellently. They now move to 2nd on the points table, behind only CSK.

This was also Chennai's first loss at home in IPL 2019. They now have a negative net run-rate and are still not confirmed for the playoffs.

Sarah: "Maintain that Vijay should not have been out. "

Sachin Garg: "CSK vs MI is similar to FedEx vs Rafa. FedEx overall record is better but Rafa has edge over FedEx .."

Biswas Poudel: "Malinga shows he is the boss. He is not old yet. He may not have pace as before, but his variations and tricks are working."
