Right from the time Sachin Tendulkar was dismissed, it has been Mumbai Indians all the way. Rohit Sharma and Herschelle Gibbs did a sterling job with the bat, before Mumbai Indians choked the Kolkata batsmen in their chase. Bisla and Gambhir fell in the first eight balls of the innings and while Kallis and Pathan helped the recovery, the required rate kept climbing against the bowling of Malinga and co.

To be fair, Kolkata did not have much of a chance chasing this big a score with their best batsman dismissed for a duck. Stay tuned for the presentation.

Presentation:

Gambhir: It was an outstanding innings from Rohit, the bowling has been doing well and this was one of those off days. If someone plays such kind of knocks, cannot do a lot. Every time we walk out, we want to play to me, Kolkata has been very lucky to me, beating them feels special

Harbhajan: Nice to see the boys coming into form, Rohit played brilliantly, Gibbs was good, luckily we now have an opener who is fit now. We got Gambhir out early which helped. We can take a positive from the way Pathan batted, hope to see him continue batting this way.

Rohit Sharma, man of the match: To be honest, there was no game plan, wanted to go there and spend some time, which is what usually helps. Wanted to bat 20 overs. We were batting first and wanted to get a decent target, knew that the pitch is quite slow. Managed to keep wickets in hands, which helped. Partnership always plays a crucial part and we were just trying to bat for about 15 overs and take it from there.

There is a second match in the day between Chennai and Delhi, so do hop over to it!

Malinga to Kallis, 1 run

another yorker, he is doling them out as complimentary presents, the batsman gets an inside edge and it is a run to the total. Only one.

Malinga to Pathan, 1 run

in the block-hole yet again, drilled away to the deep mid-wicket fielder for a single

18.2
1
Malinga to Kallis, 1 run

slower from Malinga, shorter as well, Kallis expected it to be a full length ball and that is probably why he went for the reverse flick, but the ball never came on and he gets it away to the off side

The ball's gone very dark I feel

18.1
1
Malinga to Pathan, 1 run

well bowled, yorker length ball into his legs and all he can do is to nudge it to the leg side

Harbhajan Singh has bowled only one over tonight. So Steve Smith is not the only spinner-captain, who does not bowl himself.

Almost 20 an over needed. They need Albie Morkel. And then they need Chris Gayle. And they need them firing for all the deliveries.
