Full commentary

11.15pm David Warner has played another one of those knocks: match-winning, utterly dominant, and flawless. He stayed unbeaten and ensured that his side got through, took his side close and then took calculated risks, but all the way through, ensuring he used the pockets in this outfield to accumulate. Mumbai were at least, 20 short and their bowlers tried, but couldn't achieve much. Southee impressed with an impressive display of swing bowling, but that score of 142 was always going to be hard to defend. Mumbai fall to 1 of 4.

David Warner is the Man of the Match: "I'll put it down to the bowlers. I asked them during the meetings to execute and back their plans. With two batsmen in, it looked like we could be chasing 160. The key thing today was the ball actually swung for 20 overs. Just about me playing my game, I got dropped again, and that ball normally deceives me, has been a theme throughout my career."

Rohit Sharma: "When you get that sort of score, you can only hope that the bowlers deliver but you can't expect a lot from them. We have to step up as a batting unit. We need to see what we can do as a team. We have a lot of experience in this squad. All games we lost, we haven't scored enough runs. I don't want to press the panic button, its too early, We have been in the same position previously. Southee was superb, wasn't he?"

that's it from me, says Warner. Finishes it with another six. Bouncer on middle and Warner pulls the ball high and long, over square leg. Sunrisers post their first win of the season

McClenaghan to Warner, no run

Just one hit away, another one-sided game this season.

McClenaghan to Warner, SIX runs

no, that has not gone for six, has it? It has. My gosh. Short delivery outside off, Warner hurries on his toes and bludgeons the ball with a cross-bat over mid-off. Amazingly, he has enough power behind it to carry over the boundary. My, my, my.

Bumrah to Warner, SIX runs

huge six from Warner to put the game to bed. Wow, what a swing. Shimmies down and lofts the ball over long-on with such a free flow of the bat. Wonderful timing.

Hardik to Hooda, FOUR runs

wow, what hand speed. Another short delivery from Pandya, very poor bowling. Hooda forehands this into the gap at midwicket. Amazing hands. So high the ball was and to get as high as he did to roll his wrists over the ball, Great effort

lovely. Another short delivery outside off from Pandya, and another boundary. Quite predictable that length. Hooda backs away, and ramps the ball to the third man boundary

positive intent right away from Hooda. Full outside off, the ball still swinging and it was that away movement responsible for Hooda not timing the lofted drive. Over cover

Warner showing how to do it. Gets a good length delivery and swivels into his pull, past square leg, four more

W
Southee to Morgan, OUT

excellent short delivery, and an even better catch from Hardik Pandya running in from deep midwicket. Back of a length on middle, Morgan is hustled for pace and pulls in the air. Looked for that gap over square leg, but it hit the upper half of the bat. Hardik Pandya came running in and dived low to take a good two-handed catch. Held on even as his arms hit the ground. Rolled over to ensure he did not let go off the ball.

Sunrisers cruising this. Rohit has got to make a play. Wickets priority. Southee will finish. Mid-off and square leg in the circle.
