Congratulations NSW. They're all whooping and screaming in celebration and why not? They've been a form team along with T&T all tournament and won this game hands down. They were hurt by T&T but Lee's 48 proved match-winning. It also spurred him on to bowl a fiery opening spell in which he took two wickets, then he held the crucial catch of Pollard last over. Surely Lee is the Man of the Match.

Sad end to what has been a fascinating campaign by T&T. They played wonderful cricket all throughout and stumbled when it most mattered. Fans in the Caribbean have every reason to be proud of this team though. Five wins in a row was something. There were many heroes along the way but today nobody really put in that performance. T&T have been beaten by 41 runs.

The man who did was an Australian, and a champ at that. It was Lee's match.

Sean: "The difference in the fielding of NSW compared to the Cobras has been a huge factor in this victory!" Well said. It was excellent fielding today from NSW.

Dave: "Sweet sweet revenge for the blues after pollard freakishly took the match away from them last time. What a clinical bowling performance! Best bowling side all competition, love to know the average score against them comparatively."

The NSW team are doing a lap of honor. Sections of the crowd are doing 'The Ayatollah' in respect.

Well, folks, some final that was. NSW beating T&T in Hyderabad. Welcome to Twenty20 cricket.

Kaushik: "So Australian teams currently hold the World Cup, Champions Trophy and the Champions League titles. The IPL champions of the last two years were captained by retired Aussies. And all this in a time of decline for them!! Watch out for them in the World T20 next year at the West Indies."

Katich looks a very pleased man. Kudos to him. The teams are set for the post-match ceremony.

Lee is the Man of the Match. He will speak later. And Lee comes back to pick up the Man of the Series. "I've thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks to T&T and shukriya to all the fans. I knew if I stuck around we'd get some runs. We aimed at 130-140 but got 160 on the board. It's a great win for the boys. I'm confident the way the ball is coming out. Playing pain-free is a nice feeling."

Ganga: "It was a good run for us and all credit to NSW. We cracked under pressure. A lot people are disappointed but that is how it goes. A lot of people back home are proud of us. Thanks to the Indian fans for supporting us. We have memories of the support and the fans and this will make a huge difference to the guys, and will inspire many players back in the Caribbean."

Katich collects a check for US$2.5million. That's some change, eh? "A very proud moment. Congratulations to T&T, who showed what they're worth. Thanks for a great final. Brett Lee and Steven Smith were great with the bat and then everyone chipped in. We created opportunities and the guys fielded brilliantly. The opportunity to play on the world stage has been fantastic. Its been invaluable for the young guys." And with that Katich and the teams lift the trophy and thoroughly enjoy the moment. Great scenes.
