Mumbai Indians lift the Champions League trophy along with their owner Nita Ambani and that brings us to an end of the Champions League T20 2011. This is Abhishek Purohit signing off along with our scorer Gopi Rangarajan on behalf of Sid Ravindran and Nitin Sundar and the rest of the gang at ESPNcricinfo. I'll leave you with Sid Monga's match report. Cheers!

Harbhajan Singh: "We have performed outstandingly. We were right in the game when we went in to bowl. It was just a matter of getting Gayle, Dilshan and Kohli, fantastic effort by the boys. Shaun [Pollock] spoke to all of us and we had that belief we could defend any total. We did not want to leave things for later, we have given our best shot and got the result. Malinga has been great, not only for MI but throughout his career, he has been phenomenal. Abu Nechim, one of our heroes in bowling. We were not favourites, but winning it like this is very satisfying, If without Sachin, Rohit and Munaf we can achieve so much, we can achieve greater heights when they come back."

Dan Vettori: "We thought it was tough but gettable. We got a good start but things went pear-shaped after that. Mumbai had the experience on this track and they bowled well. We are always proud of making the final. We'll be looking to get one step further in the IPL. We have come unstuck twice at this wicket here. We have to learn from that. The reason we are here is because of Gayle, Dilshan and Kohli."

Golden bat award to NSW's David Warner

Lasith Malinga is the Man of the Series. Gets the golden ball award as well. Most wickets in the tournament and won games with the bat as well.

Malinga: "I am very happy. I am playing with MI as a bowler but a few times I had to get some runs, I am happy with the batting but I want to concentrate on bowling. Good feeling [to get Dilshan]. Have always enjoyed playing with MI."

Harbhajan Singh is the Man of the Match

Mumbai Indians. Perennial underperformers in the IPL. Champions League winners. Couldn't have been more improbable. New captain, half-fit side, part-time misfiring keeper, strike bowler leading with the bat. Scrambling to chase 98 off the last ball with one wicket left. And now champions, by a comfortable margin.

Kamal: "So Chennai is a lucky ground for Sachin. Irrespective of he plays or not."

vayunandan: "RCB...you have changed everything..managers, players, captains, coaches, bowling coaches, jersey's and what not..what else is left to change to win a competition."

Our man Nitin Sundar: "Fireworks going off like it is apocalypse." And you are still at the ground? Run for cover

Nannes wanted the single at all costs, he had pushed Malinga solidly but straight to mid off, charged half way down the track before he realised there was no run, turned around, ran back and put in the dive which has saved him in the end as RAyudu whipped off the bails
