Dilshan: Didn't start well, lost too many wickets, we needed to get to 160. The pitch had slowed down, it is the third man here but Upul batted well. We need to better our fielding, back-to-back matches also did not help.
Kandamby: We started the game well, Oram and Umar bowled well, as did the spinners. Fernando has now been playing for Sri Lanka for a long time, is a wicket-taking bowler. We wanted to start well in the tournament and we are happy to win it.
Fernando, the man of the match That was our strategy, me and Gul to bowl the slog overs, short and slower ones was what I had planned. The slower balls had a lot more bounce than other pitches and that is what I tried to do.
