Full commentary

West Indies were, it appeared, coasting after a frenzied and flamboyant calypso start given by Chanderpaul and Gayle but soon after that the never-say-die spirit and the professionalism of Australia was on show. They stormed their way back into the game, helped along by some batsmen spontaneously combusting in the middle, and in the end have won by a deceptively massive 78 run-margin.

This is Sriram Veera, signing off. Catch you on the 14th for the India v West Indies match. Till then, Good bye and good luck.

Bracken to Smith, OUT

That's it, its all over. Australia have won. Fullish delivery in the channel outside the offstump, angling away and Smith, the last hope for West Indies, pushed at it, got an edge and Hadding pouched it with glee. Bracken turns to appeal, gets the nod he was looking for, turns, and runs over to his teammates to join in the celebratory huddle.

lovely slower ball to finish the over. It looped up on the off stump line and then dipped rapidly, catching Edwards by surprise. He hangs his bat out, and luckily, for him the ball pops over the short cover fielder.

Watson to Edwards, no run

overpitched on the off and middle stump line, driven to cover

Watson is on a hat-trick.

Watson to Taylor, OUT

And then they were one. Yorker, right on the middle stump line, disturbs the furniture as Taylor goes for a cover drive, the bat slicing through thin air as the cherry evades it to crash into the middle.

Watson to Bradshaw, OUT

Australia are all over the West Indians. Full, fast, and straightens after pitching on the middle stump. Bradshaw is caught plumb in front as he tries to whip it across the line.

Bracken to Baugh, OUT

Another one goes..... Wicket no 7 falls. Wide outside the off stump and Baugh gets a brain-explosion: throws his bat at it, only to get a faint nick behind and huge smiles erupt in the Australian faces as Haddin gloves it comfortably.

Carlton Baugh c †Haddin b Bracken 0 (5b 0x4 0x6 2m) SR: 0

Watson to Sarwan, OUT

The pull shot leads to his demise again. Sarwan pulls a shortish ball, fetching it from outside the offstump, doesn't get much meat behind it and it goes to right of Ponting at short midwicket who takes a couple of steps and then dives to take a good smart catch. Advantage Australia.

31.5
Watson to Sarwan, no run

banged in short and on the leg stump line, Sarwan tries to pull but gloves it and the ball pops over the stumps and rolls to the wicketkeeper.

31.4
Watson to Sarwan, no run

short of length, on the off and middle, Sarwan stays beside the line, and taps it out towards cover

31.3
Watson to Sarwan, no run

this one kept low. Sarwan brings his bat down in time to keep it away.

31.2
Watson to Sarwan, no run

drifting onto the pads, tries to tickle it away, doesn't connect and the ball runs off the pads to Haddin. Sarwan wants a run, Smith doesn't and sends the striker back into his crease.
