Again, we're skipping off to the second game of the day so head over to live coverage of India v England from Colombo, dead game this, but always something on the line between those two countries. But from George and myself, goodbye for now...

New Zealand are guaranteed a place in the next round by getting as close as they did. Ross Taylor threatened something miraculous but it is safe to say that given a few more balls he could have won that match, why did he bat so low? But in the end, Pakistan had too many on the board after Nasir Jamshed and Mohammad Hafeez played very well, Hafeez playing his part with the ball too.

Pakistan made it closer than that seemed it would be in the middle overs but eventually close out the 13 run win and just need to avoid a big defeat against Bangladesh to go through.

19.6
Ajmal to Mills, no run

swept and it gets stuck in the pad, dot ball end of the game

19.5
W
Ajmal to McCullum, OUT

slow ball, long hop outside leg, fired into the leg side, has this found the stands? Nope only finds deep square leg, it was a good ball to hit but he simply didn't catch it properly, put it straight down the fielder's throat

Nathan McCullum c Shoaib Malik b Saeed Ajmal 5 (4b 1x4 0x6 13m) SR: 125
19.4
4
Ajmal to McCullum, FOUR runs

slapped from outside off, good hit that past long off

So only three maximum's will do now, can McCullum provide them...

19.3
W
Ajmal to Southee, OUT

outside off stump, swung outside off and an big edge to short third man took a step down, Ajmal sent it wider, Southee had to reach for it and got a huge top edge straight to the fielder on the 45

Tim Southee c Umar Gul b Saeed Ajmal 1 (3b 0x4 0x6 6m) SR: 33.33
19.2
Ajmal to Southee, no run

big swing and a miss, goes past leg stump

19.1
1
Ajmal to McCullum, 1 run

around the wicket, leg stump, flicked away, oh a good diving save at short long leg, that was travelling

So 19 to win...Ajmal to bowl it...

Umar Gul to McCullum, 1 leg bye

fired in, missed, huge shout for lbw, not out given, must have been outside the line, they take a leg bye

18.5
1
Umar Gul to Southee, 1 run

great yorker, they go for the single, chance of a run out at the non-striker's end, he misses and it's well backed up, nearly four overthrows

18.4
1W
Umar Gul to Taylor, 1 run, OUT

slapped down to long off, they have to come back for two and do but it's a great throw from the boundary and Taylor is run out good work from Akmal to gather the throw and get the bails off, end of game surely now, he was never in the frame, run out by miles

Ross Taylor run out (Umar Akmal/†Kamran Akmal) 26 (11b 3x4 1x6 21m) SR: 236.36

Hold it together Umar...still a very big ask for New Zealand, esp with Ajmal bowling the last...

18.3
4
Umar Gul to Taylor, FOUR runs

and again! Leg side this time, taken off a length and slapped behind square on the leg side, races to the fence again

18.2
4
Umar Gul to Taylor, FOUR runs

four more! What a shot. Crashed from just outside off past deep cover, great strike this is, where has Taylor been all innings

Good start again for NZ...

18.1
4
Umar Gul to Taylor, FOUR runs

full outside off, goes to drive and gets an outside edge to the third man fence

Gul now, so Ajmal for the last over...

Rescued things very nicely there did Tanvir, threatened to slip away but once again Pakistan looking very likely winners...

17.6
1
Tanvir to Taylor, 1 run

another slower ball, well bowled, chopped to point

17.5
W
Tanvir to Franklin, OUT

length ball, slower, and finds deep midwicket, relief for Pakistan as Franklin goes to pull and top edges it straight to the fielder on the leg side fence, it was a ball that could have gone out of the ground but Franklin didn't quite pick it

James Franklin c Nasir Jamshed b Sohail Tanvir 13 (6b 1x4 1x6 8m) SR: 216.66
17.4
1
Tanvir to Taylor, 1 run

around the wicket, fired in full again, slapped down to long on

17.3
1
Tanvir to Franklin, 1 run

much better, gets the yorker right and it's dug out down to long on, well bowled, kept his cool

17.2
4
Tanvir to Franklin, FOUR runs

nervous times for Pakistan, full outside off and with mid off up that is four between him and extra cover, another good connection

17.1
6
Tanvir to Franklin, SIX runs

great start to the over, length ball around middle and off, slugged over wide long on, picked it up for a flat six, great strike

Nothing silly now Pakistan, you've got this game by the neck...Tanvir comes back, they can't afford a big over, that would give NZ hope...

Ajmal to Taylor, SIX runs

shot. Down on one knee and slog swept into the stands, big hit

16.5
1
Ajmal to Franklin, 1 run

down the wicket, a lofted straight drive is mishit and Ajmal leaping up to his left couldn't hold on, he got both hands to it
