6.30 pm Well, that was comprehensive. Afghanistan's bowlers began with menacing discipline, and that meant the biggest threat - Hamilton Masakadza was out in the fourth over - then they squeezed the middle order with an array of spin. Rashid Khan was especially good with his length, his chance of pace and his variations. Four overs, three wickets, only 11 runs. Admittedly a lot of this victory was set up by the batsmen, Nabi and Sami pulled them up from 63 for 4 to 186. But the variety and the options they have in their bowling attack should threaten a few more Full Members. Inzi comes out shaking his hand, throwing his head back and laughing. Sami and Shahzad jump up and bump hips. It's all hunky dory for them.

"I am very happy with my performance, specially in this main match and it was a tough game in the qualifying round," says Man of the Match Mohammad Nabi. "The start was very good, the way Shahzad played in the first five overs. It was quite good. Then the three wickets put us under pressure, the coach [Inzamam-ul-Haq] told me to take singles until the 14th over and then the last six can be used for the big hits. On that kind of pitch, 150 could be a winning target. But if you have wickets in hand, you can go for more. On these kinds of pitches, I'm a bowler first [smiles]"

"This match was very important for Afghanistan, the people wanted use to play in the World Cup. They love cricket back home," says captain Asghar Stanikzai, "Shahzad started very well, we played a few poor shots, but Sami and Nabi played very well. After a long time, our middle order has performed. Thanks to the people for praying for us."

"They played a lot better than us, they outplayed us in every facet of the game," says Hami M, "From the moment they hit is out in the powerplay, we were struggling. Nothing went to plan"

So that's a wrap here, do jump over to the other scorecard, to see how Scotland and Hong Kong fare in their final match here at the World T20

Hitesh: "Well done Afghanistan!! Mighty impressive and again they proved they're Zimbabwe's nemesis..will be interesting to see if they can spring an upset or two later"

Asghar to Chatara, OUT

and he does get a wicket in the end. Captain has his little bit of fun and seals the match off. Afghanistan storm into the Super 10s. Big old slog from Chatara and the long-on fielder settles beneath it, and just inside of the ropes. Holds on to a simple catch and makes sure he doesn't topple over either

he has a big smile on his face even as the ball slipped out of his hands. I actually think he was surprised by the fact that he got to the ball, did Dawlat running a long way to his right from short third man.

Asghar Stanikzai to bowl the final over. This is a bit of insult to injury, really

short and outside off, Wellington seemed like he was looking for a pull shot, instead he has found the point boundary. Excellent connection for a mis-hit but the problem is that's only their fourth four of the innings

Zadran to Tiripano, OUT

slower short ball on middle, patted towards point for a single. There's a direct hit from Shenwari, so the third umpire comes into the frame again. And of all the things to do, he hasn't ground his bat. It seems like the bat is raised even if he had reached his crease. Kind of typifies Zimbabwe's performance. Should have been a simple single, even if it wouldn't have mattered in the context of the game.
